I was listening to talk sport (sorry) and Svens right-hand man was on saying Svens sacking by Thaksin was outrageous and if he hadn't been given the push,we'd comfortably in the top4 now. What do you think?

FOR F**K SAKE (i do not wish to lower my tone) ITS IN THE F**KING PAST (again i do not wish to lower my tone) so leave it there!!!!!!!

FUCKING DICK!
fucking hell, get her!

Loved Sven, was gutted when we got rid and replaced him with that moron. I reckon if you gave £150Million with the squad we had, he could've got us Champions League football easily.

I hope he does well at the WC with Ivory Coast, I'm sure he will.

Sven may have been very successful before managing England, and he certainly didn't do a crap job in his time with the national team, but I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that on the big stage, England ultimately underperformed under him - the Brazil game comes to mind when we had a man advantage and half an hour to equalize, and instead of really going for it, seemed to settle for an 'honorable' 2-1 defeat.

And then, at City he had a good start, results-wise, but that included some pretty narrow victories against poor opponents (1-0 home win v Derby comes to mind). Then we all know what happened in the second half of the season, when I think we were picking up points on a par with the relegated teams. Even with a lack of squad depth, after something like a 40 million quid outlay, that wasn't too clever. And I don't even want to think about Middlesboro - I'm sorry, but some sort of 'loyalty to the boss' defense just doesn't cut it. When players want to make a point in support of a manager, they usually try to win for him...

So what has Sven done since leaving City that suggests he's still got it? Almost got Mexico knocked out of the World Cup in the easiest qualifying group in the world, before they fired him and squeaked in, and then the whole "Notts County" fiasco.

He may have been a great coach in the past, but he's not done anything recently to suggest that he's a great coach anymore. When players get past it, you can point to a loss of speed or lack of fitness to explain their decline, but I'm sure a lot of it's just that the fire goes out - they're no longer willing to put in the effort they once did. Managers obviously aren't adversely affected by physical deterioration, but they can still lose the drive and ambition that once fuelled them. They might also fail to adapt to the way the game changes from one generation to the next. Whatever it is with Sven, I don't think he's been at the top of his game since he came to City, and I don't believe we'd be any better off if he'd been handed 200 million to play with.

Come on...I know you're trying to prove a point but how the hell was any of that Sven's fault?

All I'm saying is that he's obviously cursed. Probably pissed on an ancient Indian burial ground at some point while he was in charge of England. Or maybe he didn't buy pegs from a gypsy who came to the door. Both of which would clearly have been his fault. I rest my case.
