Sven

His plans and tactics seemed to fool everyone for the first 19 games then everyone sussed him out and he had no Plan B.
But what I will say is he give us a slight taste of some good football and being top 4 for a bit and it was fun whilst it lasted.

Shame it ended like it did but who was to know what was around the corner!!

We have a Hughes thread, we have a Pearce thread so let’s have a Sven thread.
I thought he did a fairly decent job, we had some decent and semi decent players back then. We were hovering top two till Christmas I seem to recall . Where did it all go wrong.
The debacle at Boro was the players protesting at his imminent departure.
His profile and popularity dwarfed Frank's so he had to go.

Sold doon the river, his second season would've been interesting with his, ahem, little book of 'contacts'.

from Dildo Hamman's book:

‘One morning I was on a sun lounger by the pool when I saw Sven walking towards me carrying a silver tray with a bottle of champagne and two glasses on it. It was still only ten o’clock in the morning…Sven came over and put the champagne on the table next to me, then placed one glass in front of me and the other by his lounger. I looked up and said, ‘Boss, what are we celebrating?’…He turned to me and smiled that gentle smile of his and took on the air of a Buddhist philosopher as he said, ‘Life, Kaiser.’ Then after pausing for dramatic effect, ‘We are celebrating…life.’

‘Life, Kaiser. We are celebrating life.’
