Fair enough given I haven’t watched him. You watch the Norwegian league or does he play elsewhere?
I'm norwegian yeah. Don't get me wrong he is a fine young player. I just can't shake the feeling I think he has been elevated to be linked with a higher level of clubs than what he has shown so far would justify if that makes sense? There is another young player at Rosenborg that I consider a lot better than him right now

I genuinly think Ødegaard had more of a impact consistently at 15 in the league than Nypan has now

But then again I am no scout, and obviously I hope he can succeed at the highest level imaginable. I would just be surprised if he turned out to be a City-level of player

Sverre Nypan currently plays for the #1 club in my heart, Rosenborg, and he lives in the same city as I do, Trondheim.
*After some quick research, the only other player with affiliation to both City and Rosenborg is Kåre Ingebrigtsen. Kåre is a Rosenborg-legend as a player, and was also the manager for five seasons. His first season we ended #2 and the four following seasons #1.

Sverre Nypan got his debut for the first team at the ripe young age of 15. He has been a breath of fresh air in a team that has struggled in previous seasons. Sverre has a high work rate, and he is ambidextrous - making him effective at handling pressure and utilizing many passing options. He is best in an attacking box-to-box midfielder role, where he is good at finding space. For his age, he is good at sensing where to be in and around the box to finish attacks.

He has had a tough year with some injuries / setbacks that he has openly admitted has been related to overworking his body while still growing. Hopefully (realistically) these are problems that will pass as he gets older.

I knew big clubs have been sniffing around for a while, but I personally did not see him ending up in a City-shirt. While proud, should that happen, it's also a massive step where every star must align for him to be a part of the first team in the future.

*Edit: Along with Åge Hareide and Arni Gautur Arason

Arni Gautur Arason, played for both

Åge Hareide player for City and former head coach for Rosenborg.

Cheers for that.
I’d much rather read something like this than some bullshit on Twitter that he’s a generational talent bla bla bla.

Being 18 he has a long way to go. Players all develop at different ages.
Zabaleta wasn’t really City level till he was around 26. Players develop at different ages.

Maybe a move away from Norway will bring him on.
We’ll find out anyway. All the best to him.

I am not so sure with this especially with Nico O'Reilly on our books but no real harm in balancing the squad with potential and it seems not too expensive.
