A lot of rusty players out there Cherki though was great rest worked hard but final third we play to slow for me and don’t shoot enough! Reckon Cherki won’t start at weekend he be on bench, think pep will lol at that Cherki performance as encouraging but pep will look at the amount of times he lost the ball and against a top side those transitions will come!

Not sure we matched their effort in the first half but maybe there was a plan in that as it was obvious they could never keep up that tempo and commitment for the full match

2nd half turned into a bit of a stroll

Impressed with Nico again and a few flashes of brilliance from Cherki, but there were 2 or 3 fringe players who didn’t do enough to be pushing for a first team spot

We weren't good EB, but we won in the end, there were some good performances from Cherki, and Nico, Trafford when called on, John settled the defence, Gvardiol and Foden helped too, but there were some poor performances as well. We could easily have gone 2-0 down. I'd rather say it as it is, than sugar coat it.

I wish (not really) there was a stat for number of (pointless) touches within 10 yards of the opposition box, we'd win that trophy before November.

Thought Doku put a real shift in. He is definitely starting to become an important player. MOTM for us.Cherki must get established asap, he brings something different and can open up a defence.

Didn't really impact the game in any way but he's a young lad playing in a very rusty team. I'm sure he'll improve.

Cherki class, Nico and Trafford good games aswell. Disappointed in Bobb, looks bereft of confidence, though he finished the game OK. Marmoush and Khusanov very rusty, Ait-Nouri shite for their goal. Onwards and upwards, good minutes in the legs of some players who needed it and onto the next round.

Khusonov wasn’t just rusty. He was awful.

I hadn't really seen the team, and the first time I heard him mentioned was early second half, then he was taken off.

He's young and many of the more experienced others were quite poor.
