Cherki good, everything else bad.
You need to give football a miss then.

Nico was good, Trafford did well in all aspects, even if he didn't have much to do, Stones, Foden, and Gvardiol were positives when they came on.

Other positives being we won, after going behind, dominated long periods of the game, whilst trying to walk it in far too much.

Cherki head and shoulders above the others on tonight's showing. Gonzalez also decent I thought, and Ake & Doku were competent enough. A positive result that we needed and a home QF draw made it a good night.

James Traffords save at 1-0 a big moment really and thought he did well.

Minuses - I thought Khusanov looked a mile off it; Ait-Nouri was absolutely tripe, the kid Mukasa just had no impact on the game and Oscar Bobb continues to flatter to deceive and trade off one goal nearly 2 years ago as the only evidence he belongs at our level.

Hats off to the Blues that travelled.

Pep will have much to chew over there but surely he now knows O'Reilly should be the left back, Gonzalez has to play every game until Rodri is back, and Oscar Bobb alongside Savinho belong nowhere near the pitch at present.
Bobb flattering to deceive is right. Getting away with it at the minute. Sure there’s a player in there just not at the minute

There were four players who hadn't played for two months (Khusanov, Cherki, Marmoush, Ait Nouri), so they were rusty. In addition to giving a chance to a youngster like Mukasa, some players had never played together, hence the difficulties encountered in the first 30 minutes. After that, there was only one team on the pitch, with over 75% possession in their own half.

Pep focused more on getting some players back into the swing of things and giving them playing time, an objective achieved, as evidenced by the result.

Been fortunate to get to every game this season apart from the European aways, until tonight, couldn’t get away, but fuck me we’ve got some shit, made, entitled fans following success days. Accept we weren’t great but away to a reasonable championship side, behind to an early stunner, 10 changes from the weekend and ran out worthy 3 1 winners with 77% possession - maybe you needed to watch us when we were shit for decades to realise that was decent
Steve Lomas and Nicky Summerbee would have been all over this lot tonight, from the very first minute, not the second half!!

I was there in the flesh to watch it, tonight and them back in the day also :0)

First Half, we were very poor and second in every tackle, and contest !!!

Swansea were a very poor side, only 2 shots on target all match, lots of effort and attitude, more than City’s players had until after the substitutions, which was disappointing and unforgivable, 100% effort, should be the minimal requirement for any City player, that pulls the shirt on !!??

77% possession against a poor Championship team, still doesn’t cover up the fact that we were very poor and slow to break them down, not a enough one touch passing, too static, too many shots blocked or not taken at all, I could go on, but I won’t :0)

Yes, we deserved to win the game, yes players were returning from injury or not having played for a while.

But in my opinion, it was a mediocre performance, by the many, with only a few exceptions, mainly in the Second Half.

City will need to improve a great deal, if we want to beat Brentford in the next round.

Think the state of the pitch, obviously an expected tactic by Swansea inhibited him somewhat.
On our bowling green he will shine, Nico G is getting better !
Excuse me ??!!

The state of the pitch??!!

Did I miss something??!!!

I was there, it looked excellent to me and Premier League standard all over??!!

A Few players at times on both sides, lost their footing, but I am not sure, you could blame the pitch for anything??!!

Must admit I only saw the second half but thought that, apart from failure to shoot at times, we were absolutely brilliant!

Was extremely frustrating in the first half, Swansea did well but our screamingly annoying play of bringing it forward two yards before retreating and playing it square, was stupidity. What, it didn't work? Do it another hundred times!

Was surprised to see just near half time that they'd had just the one shot, which of course they scored from, but thankfully Cherki wasn't in the mood to be beaten. It shows great promise how he repeatedly waltzed through a defensive set up that had something to fight for.

Plenty to improve on. Khusanov was disappointing, his passing worse, Ait Nouri could be out muscled by my 9 year old, Bobb adding to our collection of unproductive wingers and Marmoush spending far too much time not getting on the end of things. But the reality is we won, fairly comfortably after an early scare, against a team that defended heavily and had some pace on the counter. Last year we'd have been in trouble, this year we're frustrated it wasn't more and took so long.

If Cherki, Haaland and Foden click on the pitch, good times are coming.

Got through, much needed minutes for lots of the players but was pretty poor again like Villa.
Very very lucky not to go 2 down after that schoolboy error pass by Kush and it needed that deflected shot to get us back into it as we looked devoid of goals at the time.

2nd hslf was better but we were largely hapless in the final third, so many static players occupying the same space in the box and no one gambling to get on the end of so many crosses and players wanting another touch rather than shoot.

Not convinced over our new left back, Bobbs not going to be the quality we need, Marmoosh not looking like a player bar his goal and Foden was awful when he came on.
Bobs first season and for me he has done alright he got down the line a few times tried to put the ball in but when there is 2/3 men on him even the best in the world would struggle! Some fans think a player should get through all those players and put in a perfect cross odd score every game when just counting in to the team! Watch Chelsea game and how much space there winger had to score and assist!

Do you remember the qualify back then? Or the space wingers and most players had! Look at them stats of how much players press and mileage they do in a game now than back then also managers are better coaching there players tactics are better!

I said the same thing about the pitch it looked wank in all fairness. Bobbling all over the place.

We didn’t look like a team

Just 11 different players not gelling

But we won and give the lads playing a break as some coming back from injuries and others trying to get form back

Thought Cherki was best player on pitch and exciting to watch as he brings something different
