Swansea (QF) Post Match thread

City have used only 22 players so far this season? The 3rd lowest in the league I believe, that’s why he tries to change it up in cup games, giving the squad players their chance to prove themselves, and for the most part, they have.
I fully back Pep’s methods in the cup games, our core players of Aguero, Sterling etc.... Must be protected for CL and the final run in for the Prem, especially with injuries to the likes of KDB and Mendy, meaning any more injuries to important players would seriously hinder progression on all fronts in the final 3 competitions we are still in.
Football is not an exact science, but Pep has narrowed the gap between science and art, and given us Delph and Zichencko, as LB, 2 seasons in a row, while Mendy has done more for instagram, than City, Pep has sprinkled his magic on 2 players, who have stepped up, massively ( both on the verge of being shipped out) and surprised everybody.
Also, this is “The FA Cup” cliches no doubt abound about “the magic of the cup” but with good reason, as we should know with the Wigan game ( yes, you’re not the only one who has tried to airbrush that one from memory)
Meaning , anything can happen, and it did, but City deservedly got back into it, and really, but for some heroic keeping, and dogged defending, should’ve won this far easier, and with much more time to spare.
Credit, where credit is due, Swansea rode their luck, took their chances, but City can now count Bernardo as one of its players of the season, ( with Sterling, Aguero and LaPorte) and one that can be relied upon to deliver when backs are against the wall.
Great result, a bit of luck, yes, but the right result!!!

To summarise - Swansea were robbed of what would have been a very lucky ( but legitimate) giant killing act.
They shouldn’t even be allowed to enter the fa cup - wales have their own fa and own Welsh cup - that goes for Cardiff too - so fuck off Taffy

I think it was a penalty, he got the ball and the player, however his touch wasn't enough and if he hadn't fouled raheem would of got to the ball.

jkust got back , too many missed chances, atmosphere was electric 2nd half, its a win, move on cup is ours, rags out makes it sweeter

We got through and that's about it. The worrying thing for me is the huge drop off in quality when Mahrez and Jesus play. Delph, awful, D.Silva suddenly looking his age.

Still one trophy in the bag, top of the league and in the quarters and semi finals of two other cups. If we don't get a transfer ban it is obvious where we need to strengthen though.

Two weeks rest, let's hope we get some bodies back.

Great comeback. Kept the faith. Match day forum was colourful as usual. Bernardo looked on it from start to finish. Had a feeling he’d have a say in the comeback. Zinchenko at LB showed why he’s been picked ahead of Adelphi’s recently.

Aside from the match, I feel bad for Delph. This time last season, he was called for, more so than Mendy. Also contributed immensely in to the great season. Trusted and relied on by fans.

He’s not been on form for a while. Didn’t help himself today. Hope he rediscovers the form from last season and plays better, whether at City or elsewhere (what some of the fans want to happen).
