No disrespect intended to our foreign fans...but I really don't get people with absolutely no affinity to either the country or club deciding to support a team that's not native to where they are from.

That's like me suddenly deciding to support some club in russia...why do people do it? Genuine question...in this case the swedish...there are decent teams in Sweden are there not?

Before anyone asks I lived in and around Munich for 11 years btw.

US fans who either don't follow the crap MLS or were into the sport before there even was a domestic league? Granted, most are plastic rags, but you can watch 100% of the PL matches at any time and there are a LOT of people who follow whatever PL club they picked because this is the highest quality of play and best thing that you can watch.

I know some US City supporters who care as much or more about the club as anyone who goes to matches live. And who have done so since Claudio Reyna, or being into Oasis, or just hating the insufferable rag twats that you see everywhere over here.

Supporting a club is caring about it and following it through good times and bad. Lots of people like me who moved away from the UK for work or whatever would agree, I think.

It shows how well they done on merchandise across the world, they must rake it in. Part of the reason they could blow huge fees on rio, veron, Rooney etc in the early days

I am out here on my jollies in Agia Marina Crete and its virtually wall to wall Scandanavians, the vast majority being Swedish, in our hotel its 90pc Swedes, 10 pc Norwegians and 9.98pc Danes leaving me and the Mrs as the only English, whats pissing me off though is that virtually every Swede has got some form of Rag merchandise on.
They virtually to a man wear a Rag shirt to breakfast, then go by the pool with their Rag backpacks and pull their Rag towels out its fuckin comical, even the Danes and Norwegians take the piss, had my City shirt on this morning just to piss them off but not one will say a thing to me even though they all speak good English, i asked one why he had a Utd Tattoo he just blanked me, soft tw***

My maths are out must be the 42c heat, its 80% Swedes not 90%

He might have been about 10 but the rest of his family had them on as well and there was 7 of them, found out later they were flying home today and thats what they were wearing to go home in, tw*** of the highest order
