I went to a Swindon game once and the loudest cheer I heard - I kid you not - was the announcement at half time when the rags were 2 nil up.

The place is full of lads who support Swindon Town (because they are their local team) AS WELL AS a.n.other club that is riding high in the charts (ie rags, Arse, Ski's etc).

In 3 years time it will be awash with "Blues".

If you must watch the game in a pub then keep to the top end of old town (eg Rudi's bar) and avoid the plastic-rag infested bottom end of town (eg Fleet Street).

Cheltenham have a great supporters club I remember we stopped there on the way to Swindon away a good few years ago. Not sure if it is an official s.c. I'd travel to there and then travel with them. They go home and away

I see the Cheltenham bus on the North car park just about every home match - whatever day or time kick off happens to be - good Blues !

Lived there for 3 years and can't say saw too many blues but had great banter with all the plastics. So easy to wind up! Best place to watch the match will be the old town there's always a screening somewhere. It was rarely city when I was there but we were shit then.
Agree with the lad saying go to games with the Cheltenham lot they go everywhere.
There's also a mad blue from Swindon can't think of his name but recall a New Year game in the 80s when he was inviting all blues to his house for a party after we played em down there. Someone will know him as he goes to every game

Reading's also full of plastic rags and Chelski fans, even tough the local team is the form bet for automatic promotion the way they're going.

Worse, rags run two of the best ale pubs that show football. They're all susceptible to banter though, one even has a sense of humour...

But I can't think of a decent boozer in Swindon, let alone to watch football as a Blue.

I live in Oxford and think Reading and Swindon are both shitholes tbh. They do have better nightlife and shopping than Oxford but at least Oxford has a bit of character, and a team that's spent more seasons in the top flight than both of those.
