Gutted is one of the words to describe last night. We arrived at the Swinton Conservative Club to meet Nigel De Jong and Ibrahim which had be organised like a Fans Forum by the Swinton MCFC branch.

We found out that the club had sent security and PR personell down on the monday to check out the establishment and see if everything is ok. All the checks were perfect and the go ahead was given (this had been organised for quite some time). The we found out that on tueday the club had decided to cancel as the players wanted to focus on 4th spot rather than associate themselfs with these meetings now.

Now no offence I love City and would love 4th spot but I dont see how 2 hours out of your time to see 40 odd city fans that worked their arses off to set this up only to let them down two days before the event is seen as 'preparing for 4th'. Surely they knew when they accepted that they would be aiming for 4th by this point in the season anyway.

Long story short... the night was actually really good apart from the players not showing, and we have been confirmed by the club two first team players for the start of next season guarenteed. Fingers crossed

Yeah it was unfortuante. Luckally a lot of people got told by the head of the Swinton Branch that they wern't coming, but everyone still showed up to show support for the club and we ended up doing a world cup quiz and just sharing city stories.

At a time when you think City are geting there act together you then think Fu*k all changes .if you commit yourself you should acept responsibility .If the advertised players could not attend for whatever reason we have enough people at the club to attend the meeting to support what branch officials are doing .could you imagaine them not sending anyone to a Sponsers event !!!!

Sorry to hear the club let you down but its great to hear that the meeting went ahead sucessfully. More to the point its brilliant to hear there's a Swinton Branch - I live close by. Could you let me have some details of the branch please. Sounds like your doing some top work mate, keep it up!
