Anyone who thinks SWP doesn't love City is an idiot. Yeah he went Chelsea, but that was more City needing the money than SWP wanting to leave. He came back home too but that still isn't good enough for these new fans. He's always praised our club and fans at both City and Chelsea and has gave us so much over the years in goals, assists, entertainment, workrate, silky runs, tracking back, etc... and still has so much more to offer.

He says in his recent interview how he wants to finish his career at the club he loves with the fans he loves and gets slagged for it. These are exactly the right comments you want to be hearing from all our players, so I suggest some of you's slagging him get to an actual game and see what proper fans think about the legend!

No, i agree, there was no gun involved but the way it was handled was less than professional.

Dont get me wrong, im not sticking up for SWP, as i think he has handled this the wrong way, and his dick of a step dad hasn't helped matters.

Who knows, Shaun could be on his way this summer as i dont see him wanting to remain as a rotational player.

i agree with you i think he's listening to the same wrong people he listened to about the chelsea move which also cost him a place at the last w/c. if city is his love maybe he should tell them to shut it and fuck off and deal with things his own way

How can anybody who watches him week in week out, question his commitment. He gets kicked from pillar to post every game and if memory serves me he was the most fouled against player in the prem last season. This is a guy who loves the club, only went to Chelski because we needed the cash at the time, that wouldn't happen now thank God. We could all do without his dad mouthing off to the press but we all have to get used to the fact that anything to do with MCFC is now big news and sells papers. Opening contract talks with a quality player when they are down to the last 2 years makes solid business sense. This guy is a talisman who puts his body on the line every time he pulls on a blue shirt.

Reading some of the bile on here no wonder players are more and more mercenary, you should all be ashamed of yourselves

I think it's more an issue of him getting a 4 or 5 year deal to take him to the end of his days rather than getting parity at 80-90k a week. Can we all see a 31 year old SWP having the pace he's got now? As much as I like him, a 1 year top up with a small rise is fair if you ask me, especially as he's not exactly set the world on fire this season.

look at what he says about what he wants.....to stay at the club and end his career, and to work on at the club after his playing career is over.

that says everything about swp and is the reason why we should improve his contract

he is city through and through and clearly loves the club as much as any fan in the stands

that is a rare in football

a class player.............hopefully this whole issue will be resolved in close season (or before) and we will see him sign a new contract

i could of swore he played for chelsea for a couple of season

he did...sold against his will (supposedly)......the money from which really helped the club at the time and then he came back and we made a profit!
