A lot of players no doubt try to take the money from their short career and use it to set themselves up for life. Some of them are always going to get it wrong, which is why they go bankrupt at a rate far higher than the average person. No doubt the average PL football gets a lot of 'business opportunities' across their desk, and they're often rich enough that they feel like they can afford the risk, when in reality, a few traditional investments would set them up for life.
