SWP to move on?

we now have different options for different games however i think we will still stick to 4-5-1 (def) / 4-3-3 (att) formation from last season.

-----------------------------RSC/ADE/CAICEDO--------------------

---ROBBIE/PETROV/BELLAMY-----------------TEVEZ/SWP/WIESS----

----------------------------SUPERMAN/ELANO----------------------

----------------------------BARRY/JOHNSON-----------------------

----------------------------DE JONG/KOMPANY---------------------

BRIDGE/GARRIDO--LESCOTT/ONOUHA--DUNNE/TERRY--RICHARDS/ZAB

----------------------------GIVEN/TAYLOR-------------------------

with us trying to break into the "big 4" we will need players to step in incase of injury so we dont loose any momentum

this is a strong squad now and it will make a difference through the season just look at the way villa lost it last season because they had no squad depth

* i also realise we havnt got terry or lescott but we look likely to get to defensive signings will edit when happens*

I think this is pretty much spot on. Lets hope we get those centre backs in cos otherwise its a dodgy defence.

I reckon Hughes is going to have a formation for away and a formation for home, away being 442 with 2 of tevez, rocky or ade. Can only see robbie coming on as an impact sub if we're away. 433 for home fixtures with the addition of robbie instead of rsc, the midfield 3 of Ireland, BArry and nige will be very consistent away and at ghome.

Not sure Robby is going to be happy being sub all the time away. I agree though! He'll hopefully deal with it well.

There will be away games he can play, like Hull, Wolves and Sunderland (as examples) because they have good pitches but are not so great teams.

But against Blackburn, Birmingham, Pompey, Burnley and Everton (as examples) with not so great pitches we'll need RSC+Ade I think.

All the top teams have great pitches so it will be interesting to see how we play them. That's Hughes real test. Do we just play OUR game like all the top 4 do against each other or do we adjust our game.

this is what my team would be

............................GIVEN........................
ZABA..........LESCOT.........NED.........BRIDGE
............................BARRY........................
SWP..............................................ROBBIE
..........................IRELAND.........................
.........................ADE,TEVEZ....................
I WOULD START KOMPANY IN DEFENCE PROBS IN PLACE OF BRIDGE THEN PUT LESCOTT AND LB

I appreciate the opinions of others but come on...Robinho on the bench?

City's best player, one of the top 5 players in the Prem on the bench....hahaha..give over!!!!

Torres
Gerrard
Rooney
Lampard
Drogba

Which of them is he better than? I love robbie but hes not in the top 5 in the prem at this moment in time in terms of attacking players who influence a game.
My argument was that he goes on the bench vs bottom of the league sides scrapping for their lives away from home because he will be annonymous in these types of games. id play him in every home game and vs the top half of the league away but i dont think people suggesting he goes on the bench for particular away games is an unfair comment.

robinho will be a different player this coming season

playing with better players and he is now settled so i think we will see more from him

There is now a very healthy squad under construction, with enough quality to cope with lack of form/injuries/rest, as is proven here there are many permutations for the chosen 11.
There will be times when our manager picks a team where not completely happy with,we live in a world where everyone is an "expert" this is when we have to support our manager as well as our team.
Therefore when you go to bed tonight(and all nights thereafter)just before entering the land of nod,say these simple four words " IN HUGHES WE TRUST " nite nite xxx

Most will agree TEVEZ-ADE-ROBINHO is our first choice frontline at home.

Away there will be lots of different combos. I like that we can be really solid if we need to. When everyone's fit I like this do make a really tough defensive midfield:

Richards-Ned-Lescott-Bridge
--Kompany-De Jong-Barry
---------Ireland
------RSC-----Tevez

I think we will be playing 4-4-2 next year with swp on the right and petrov/barry on the left and the strikers alternating between adebayor/rsc as the target man and robbie/tevez as the one playing just off the target depending who's on form, so swp will get plenty of games

Now i tink we will go for a

4-3-1-2

With Tevez 'in-the-hole' behind the front 2 of Ade and Rob..
