Yesterday i was out running on the promenade in a sunny sea side village called deganwy, I always take my football with me too keep on top of close control. Do my exercises blah blah, coming back sprinting along the prom, i didnt see it, and stepped onto a stone/pebble, Absolutely yanked my left ankle all the way over. Straight away i felt sick and though it was broke, Sat down and took my boot off and slowly limped home.
Got home to find it swollen like a balloon, Straight down the hospital, Doc checks it, Xrays its..... Not broken, but ive ripped all the ligaments down the left hand side of my left ankle, Ive never had so much pain, and all I could think of is Bojinov and Petrov doing their knee's and how painful that is. Well im glad its not broke, as im off to Thailand on Nov 26th for 6 months, so ive got a rigerous regime called water treatment to get the swelling down within 2 weeks, i cant put any weight on it at the moment, or even stand on it. So i just want to say

Martin Petrov and Valeri Bojinov, im thinking of you !!!!

i have sympathy for you!!

i did a similar thing to my right ankle when playing football a few seasons back...went up for a header (being a keeper i had never really done this before) and i fell over their striker, landed on my ankle and sprained it...not as bad as yours obviously but bloody painful...i managed to drive home but then couldnt walk on it for a week...its still a bit swollen now after 2 years!

know exactly what you're going through. went for a stupid tackle ended up out for 2mnths. its more like 3 before i could run without any pain and has never felt strong since

tore lig's in right ankle years ago had to give up football and bmxing as will just keep going randomly

I broke my ankle and damaged ligaments in a terrible football tackle about 6 years ago (some chav twat went through me with two feet, from behind), it took me 6 months to be able to walk without limping and a total of 18 months before I could play football again. It hurt like f*ck, and I still take paracetemol and ibuprofen before I play football.

Sympathy, eh?

You will find it somewhere between shit and sypholis in the dictionary.

Did same thing on a night out on the bottom stair in Branagans, (the original Branagans, under the Royal Exchange. Been shut and unused for twenty years, shame, was a good bar in a good location. Curious to see if its just been left as was?)
and know its more painfull than a break even. Hope it heals quick mate.
