scary stuff uk/us etc on side of rebels made up of fuck knows what groups etc, and russia, china etc lined up for the current leadership .. fuck does no one ever learn. i sometimes think they (some govts, perhaps including ours) would love to orchestrate some kind of limited global incident to thin out the numbers...balance the books. but i cant think on this stuff for long am depressed enough as it is.

Once upon a time it seemed you had to commit a whole army to war and the decision was more time consuming, now it's man less drones and Xbox wars so we're off solving the worlds problems at the drop of a hat (well problems as we percieve them) and we all know we will follow the US if it comes to actual military action

Right now it looks like the immediate response is to arm the rebels with better weapons. No doubt Obama was hoping his "red line" threat would be enough and he wouldn't have to follow through. Time for cool heads and a pragmatic approach in the White House but those words will surely haunt Obama and restrict his ability to stopping at arming the rebels alone, they will see it as they need to remove Syrias ability to use these weapons (air and tank) and that means a no fly zone whether we/US/France enforce it or they give AA weapons to the rebels remains to be seen but my view is they will be very reluctant to give the rebels AA weapons.

The UN said a couple of weeks ago, it was the rebels who used chemical weapons to try to get the US to get involved. I believe them.


To get involved in this sectarian dispute would be absolute madness and I don't care if it's unpatriotic but if this starts some kind of war with Russia, then quite frankly I hope the US/UK is beaten and heavily. Although we were embarrassed and humiliated in Iraq, they still haven't learnt and maybe it will take something really terrible to make the Establishment change their ways. On this I hope Syria/Russia/China/Iran win the day!!

Typical, once one side gets the upper hand, the US gets involved, supports the other side and we go on and on. All the while it's the folk who just want to get on with their lives who suffer the most.

The sooner one side wins the better, then deal with the consequences. To pick sides is just storing up trouble for the future and causing more and more innocent folk to be killed and injured.

At times of uncertainty, like this, I find using the WWCS (what would corky say) rule when dealing with a lady helps what can otherwise be a linguistic nightmare.

Something along the lines of "Fuck off you fussy ****" would seem an appropriately corkesque response until we are certain of the gender.

Im not sure why anyone bothers with these places to be honest. Syria will be like Afghanistan in 10 years time due to this "uprising"
