T2 - Manchester Airport

I went up into the terminal the other day, looks smart up top, but not many shops, as for down underneath whoever designed it hasn't got a clue, badly designed, can't take the usual amount of trailers into it, the knock on effect it will take longer for you to get your bags, at least you can enjoy all the shiny stuff whilst you wait ,
I agree with this and another poster above. The terminal looks amazing. The range of restaurants and shops is miles better than the other two at MCR. There are a few design flaws though. Namely, that you have to walk about half a mile to get to your gate. The luggage on the way back was very slow, (especially considering there was only one other arrival around the same time), but I put that down to COVID issues?

The terminal looks great. Came through there 2 weeks ago. No problem going out. Check in security etc all great.

Totally let down on the way back in by UK Border Control taking well over 2 hours for passport checks. 4 staff on and 8 flights came in within 15 minutes.

When going to the airport and going through security bag scans, I always find it essential to ensure I have a hand bag full of cosmetics and a shoulder bag full of cosmetics, because I find it means that I can look continuously radiant for the 5 hours I’m in the company of people I will never see again whilst sitting in a metal tube. The security people really love me as well.

Awesome terminal, they're trialing not having to remove electrical and liquids from your hand luggage. Security was a breeze, I hope the trial is rolled out.

I flew from there a couple of years ago on my own as had to stay behind a day while my wife and kid flew out with friends. Got to the Jet2 check in and I was the only one there. Got to security and I was the only one there too! Flight was about 7pm in the evening! Loved it. Obviously not so quick the year after at 7am!

Nice space but thought there'd be more than 2/3 eateries. Has the pretentions of Heathrow without the substance. Much better than it used to be though.
That’s very true the queues are ridiculous all because they want you seated and eating, some of us just want a couple of pints not a bloody meal

Signage round the airport is confusing, especially pick up areas. T1 you dont go in multi storey to pick up, T2 you do, but no sign to tell you unless its hidden away from the 3 ft high leters saying multi storey.
