Leg breaker from the norwich lad - yellow

Scholes kicked a bolton guy in the chest - chuckle and a "tipical scholesey" from the MOTD sofa

I thought if Yakubu's was a red, Scholes' was. He kicked out, high, completely missed the ball and hit him in the chest.

Showing them all on MOTD, every last one worse than Kompany's, 0 red cards!
Well at least we're fast learning refs are getting consistent..

consistently shit.

It's irrelevant.

It's all well and good saying it's down to the referees interpretation but last Sunday the same referee sent Kompany off for one tackle and totally ignored the tackle by Giggs.

So you not only have the inconsistency from ref to ref you also have an inconsistency with every single decision made in every single game.

It stinks. For most games these days, it'd be fairer if the ref tossed a coin before KO and the result was decided that way meaning the players could save themselves from 90 mins of running and we could all fuck off home and be warm. Even better, the ref could toss a coin on the Friday night saving us all the hassle of turning up.

I want to see City V Liverpool or City V Spurs as the main event, not a sideshow to the main event which features a middle aged man with a whistle making things up as he goes along.

It'd be interesting to see (ie sport psychology study) if having the power to influence the game affects the referees mentality and performance ala Zimbardo's prison guard study.

If youre wondering where I got that from, youre last paragraph inspired that thought.

It would.

If any decision can go anyway what's the point in rules and regulations? Why not just let the ref make them up as he goes along, he more or less does anyway, and take centre stage.

As I said in the agenda thread, I don't think there's a big conspiracy that is anti-City but I can not trust an organisation which makes up the rules as it goes along with no explanation or justification and punishments for anyone questioning them.

As far as tin hats and conspiracies go: Who do you think owns the tin foil industry?

There's no conspiracies on this thread.

Your wit should probably be posted somewhere else.

What about the top 4 ref conspiracy?
I dont see it mentioned in this thread?

What about it?

Start your own thread on it if you want to talk about it.

blaming the refs is blaming the symptom not the cause, just the same as blaming every single england manager since 66 is symptom not cause

the constant in both scenarios - the FA, a more incompetent organisation is difficult to find

I don't think anyone would disagree with you there.

The fact it could be almost instantly rectified just makes matters worse.

No foul but Spurs contesting a dropped ball in the Wolves box in the 90th min is fuckin despicable.

To be fair Wolves had just about bent every rule as far as they could (not whining, some teams have to do it) and it was the referee's fault. He and his assistents didn't have the best game and the drop ball was always going to be a farce, and was most likely called a Spurs foul to save embaressment

Have to say that it pissed me off that Adebayor was insistent on contesting it. Embarrassing, regardless of what had gone on before. Not what I expect of or like to see from Spurs.

Said on football focus that there was typical Scholes tackle. They have always made a joke of it. Why is the question that should have been answered by now. He should have had a record for red cards. Then you have bacon face complaining the Bolton lad did'nt get sent off when the pen was given. Did'nt Mancini get slagged for saying about Johnson's tackle. 1 rule for 1 another for every other manager.
