everyone was up for it,the crowd was great,but why didnt he take dunne off at half time after the ref gave him a final warning just before half time ,it was plainly obvious at some point in the second half we would be down to 10 men through a mistimed tackle

Dunne has been Hughes biggest letdown this season, he's supposed to be our captain and leader on the pitch but 3 red cards 2 own goals and some complete howlers have shown him up big time. He should be the first one out of the starting XI to go. You have to be cruel to be kind, Joe Hart did nowhere near as much wrong a Dunne but nobody can argue we aren't a much better side with Given between the sticks.

A new centre half to play alongside Kompany or Onouha should be our first aquisition of the summer, followed by a box to box midfielder and a striker who can play with his back to goal.

ersonnaly the weakest link in our defence is richards he is consistantly shite letting crosses through all the time and dunne is having to cover for that. i think richards needs the kick up the arse dunne got a few years back

A new RB and a CB of two
OUT=Dunne and Richards

I agree with this. We should concentrate on our defence this close-season because every other team know they have a chance at getting at us with these two at the back.

Not a tactical mistake when you've got no real alternative but to keep him on. Hughes was justified in putting his trust in his captain and most experienced defender to moderate his game and avoid getting sent off. Unfortunately Dunne let him and his team down (not for the first time this season), and he will pay for it by being replaced in the summer.

Agreed, although Dunne was having to rush into that challenge because Micah was missing in action again. Don't want to see Dunne leave the club, but sign a top class CB is probably on Hughes' shopping list. By taking Dunne off VK would have had to drop back and left the midfield weakened, so Hughes had to take a gamble on Dunne not being sent off. I don't think he had much alternative with this.

I agree with this
