Given the fact that Milner and SWP had knocks his substitutions made sense, and did make a difference. Yaya is far better playing further up the pitch but missed his foil today, and the Dzeko/Tevez/Balo front line will never work. They have got in each others way for the last 2 games.
And what was with the Wimbledon style in the first half. Operation Edin?

Mancini will have to drop either Dzeko or Ballotelli in future games and play with just the two up top, or one depending on who we are playing, it just doesn't seem to work with all three of them up front, it may in time but for the near future he has to chop one of them.

At first I was baffled as to why Viera came on for Dzeko when we needed a goal but Dzeko didn't have a great game and we needed some more men in midfield as Fulham were controlling that area towards the end of the game.

It worked pretty well when Silva was loading the gun. We could have had Pele, Maradonna, and van Basten up front and they'd struggle with the service our midfield provided.

Silva not playing was a massive blow today, it may work once dzeko and ballotelli have got some more games under their belt, but he may need to drop one of them for the time being.

Tactics eeez very important, in a football eeez important to have fresh breath and they eeez only two calories.

--------------------Dzeko
--------------------------Tevez

-----------------------Yaya

------Kolarov-----------------------Milner

-----------------------Barry

Zabaleta Lescott Toure Boateng

Is how we should have lined up today.

Milner and Kolarov can get wide and cross for Dzeko whilst being able to get back and make it tight in midfield if Fulham get on the ball.

I think we should play such a formation at home against shit teams whilst reverting back to the 4-5-1 against better teams or away from home.

Tactics don't mean jack shit. Games are won lost or drawn on individual mistakes, and our No 13 was a bit culpable today.

Nowt to do with tactics.

Birmingham won a cup today, and tactics didn't play any part in it. It was a mistake at the back between the keeper and one of his defenders that gifted Birmingham the winning goal. Pure and simple.

It's mistakes and individual errors that cost games, not tactics.
