His agent said we don't pay him enough attention and we've got a 50\50 chance of him staying with City, it's not about the birthday cake as he could treat us all to cakes :) but he needs more attention.

In other words the agent is agitating for a big pay rise for Yaya.

Especially as he's under contract till 30th June 2017, That's another 3 seasons folks!
I'm sure there will be an exit clause if someone else comes up with a lot of cash, but hey.
It's just the relentless Anti-City agenda.

He's a rag.

He was outed when co presenting with Andy Jacobs by a fellow journo who he took the piss out of on air and retaliated by saying it wasn't fair.
Surely he's Spuds? Double the reason to snipe at us, mind you...

To clear up any confusion here, there are two Kellys on Talksport these days. Des Kelly who appears on Press Pass (who some claim to be a rag, something I'm unsure of as I don't listen to that guff), and the other is the rotund Danny Kelly, one time editor of NME, who is the more likely to have been co-presenting with either one of Hawksbee or Jacobs in the 1-4 slot, and he is most definitely a Spurs fan, and doesn't hide it either.

When the presenters lay bare their club allegiances I have no beef with their myopia or tinted spectacles, as they're speaking as fans. But it's those whose role in the press means they should be neutral and who in some cases blatantly aren't, those're the ones who need whacking upside the head with a large spade.
Des Kelly is a rag. He did a stint with Andy Jacobs last season and was outed after he made a dig at a journo about his team. Jacobs made a point of saying it wasn't well known until the journo outed him.

If you heard him on Colin Murray this morning he was making sly digs whilst the others were singing happy birthday.

As you say Danny Kelly is an out and proud spud.

It is impossible to give him anymore attention. He is the clubs highest earner, the fans cheer and chant his name every single game, the media have been sucking him off all season just don't see how we could give him any more attention which leads me to think thats just an excuse.

he needs some guts, some honesty. contact the club and say its all bolllocks or its true I want to leave or even I want more dosh, whatever it is the club need to know. this has to come from him, not his (seems a twat) agent, not twitter or heresay, him. of course he may not like the answer, this is a very different Manchester city that had to bow to financial pressure to let swp go to Chelsea. I remember losing many players over the years, trevor francis, paul stewart etc and thinking we are finished. needless to say we survived even though we were shit. yaya, along with any other player in our squad is replaceable and one day we win have to consider life without aguero, vinny and even silva but just like yaya any exit these days will be entirely on OUR terms.

And I think some fans need to get their heads around this. Much as we want to love players and want them to love the club, any professional footballer is, by definition, mercenary be it Yaya, Rooney, Gerrard, whoever. As far as I am concerned, though it goes against the grain as a traditionalist, the players are stepping stones to get us where we want to be. I'll back anyone whilst they wear the shirt and, if they wear it with obvious pride like Zab and Kompany, I'll remember them fondly forever but that's as far as it goes.

Very much this. They have a finite career length and want to pack in as much as they can. We the fans couldn't conceive leaving for another club if we played for City, however, the players are not fans and will want to move on when they think they can get a better deal, or win something elsewhere. All I would ask from Yaya is some honesty, and not some stupid story about him being disrespected. If you want to leave, then come out and say it ffs - be honest with the fans and show us some respect.

Anyway, next week will bring more 'player x wants to leave City', when they start to gather with their countries for the WC. And talkshite will be all over it as per usual.
