Talksport

Why does the more we get mean less for the smaller clubs - it's not a finite pot the money comes out of and we're taking more than our share, we did a good deal for ourselves, if other clubs want to do good deals too, well done - They're trying to bring the best down to their mediocre level rather than trying to rise to ours.
All football clubs started with nothing.
We used to dream of having nothing.

Listened to TS this week, they were announcing the city group Puma deal and how it was second to United who had a bigger deal.

Anyway they ring Alan Sugar to discuss shirt deals.
He couldn't fathom how selling shirts at £15, was going to get Puma value for money on the deal.

The jumped up barrow boy then disparaged something like "don't get me going on that club's 'inflated' sponsorship deals" !
TS didn't let him continue and quickly cut the call off.
Had to smile to meself

Would that be the Alan Sugar that took Spurs from being one of the most prestigious clubs in the country to a laughing stock fighting relegation season after season?

Seems like a good person to comment on how to run a football club well.

laughed yesterday when talking about shirt deal, who ever it was started crying it's not fair the more they get means less for the smaller clubs, cant remember this out cry at other shirt deals

It also makes no sense, I can't see how our Puma deal snatches bread off the table of impoverished Port Vale players.

It was that footballing sage Sam Alladyce, The multimillionaire Alan Sugar couldn’t understand how much money was paid ‘just to put a name on a shirt’.......really Alan ? Ever heard of advertising , you know , that which makes the world go round ? Worth billions every year ? He resorted to the old ‘i’m Just a simple cockney barrow boy made good ‘ line usually reserved for Harry ( my dog does my accounts) Redknapp.
I await their views on Spurs or Utds next deals.

You leave Rosie out of it, she was a victim of her own success ;-)

Didn’t Alan Sugar alongside the likes of Martin Edwards and the chairmen of Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton push for the creation of the premier league. A premier league where he could make money shifting his Amstrad boxes with Sky and create a league of haves and have nots. The only way you can win it is big financial backing because of what these twats decided in the words of Billy Joel ‘we didn’t start the fire’.

This deal, and the Chinese buying a stake in us, no allows us to say that we can know spend what we've earned.

The sticks we were previously being hit with are slowly disappearing....

Yes which makes his mismanagement of the Spurs brand and business even more incompetent. He is indeed a twat.
