Talksport

This morning they had that renowned Pundit, Lee Bowyer, on

Predictably he came out with the favourite Talkport line of the moment "I think United will finish above City". They no longer ask can United win the league, it's always can United finish above City.

He says City won't win the league because they can't be trusted to get results away from home on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. Now, I thought that doesn't sound right so I just checked and in the two seasons under Pellers we've played 5 premiership away matches on a Tuesday or Wednesday night

Stoke 1 City 4
Sunderland 1 City 4
West Brom 2 City 3
Rags 0 City 3
Spurs 1 City 5

They really know their stuff on that Station...
Great spot, mate.

There doesn't seem to be much appetite for a dedicated sports news channel amongst the broadcasting companies. There must be a reason why it's viewed as a non-starter because you wouldn't imagine they'd be too concerned about the 'opposition'. Talksport bill themselves as the "biggest sports radio channel in the world" - I guess they're competing against themselves for that title (and they're still lucky to win it) because I don't know of any other in this country. Personally I'd enjoy listening to an intelligent, witty, up to the minute sports radio station hosted by professional, entertaining and reasonably impartial presenters featuring quality guests. So, pretty much the complete opposite of Talksport and Alan Brazil, Micky Quinn, Darren Gough, Georgie Bingham etc etc.

It is a real shame because there are a lot of good sports journalists out there and the country follows a diverse range of sports. You dont have to like all of Football,Rugby Union or League, Cricket, Horse racing, Athletics, Tennis, Badminton, Swimming, Rowing (on the river, not with the wife), Ice Hockey etc etc and minor sports will also have a shot at air time.
There is always an event, league or match going on somewhere to report and then the politics of sport, corruption, doping, the loss of sports fields and school time etc etc.

There has to be a solution with a real quality support.

Colin Murray show giving equal time to each team for a season preview.

First us, and Hamman trots out all the negatives we've already heard this summer. Old squad, not enough world class players, Pellers on death row, the 2 Ferns not being up to it. Hid did, however say Sterling would be class for us. Murray trying for balance (as he always does, tbf) praised our owner and the investment in the local area but responding to a City fan messaging about the SAS (Sterling, Aguero, Silver) said it would actually be ASS.

Then the rags. It's all coming together, everything's wonderful under the tactical turtle, and they could challenge for the league this season although the goalkeeper situation was a concern. His prediction Arsenal winners, then rags, Chelsea and (maybe) Liverpool pipping us for 4th.

Same shit, different day.
I thought I heard that comment about Pellegrini.
Poor old Didi seemed to think that we are going to struggle because we have a manager who "looks like he's on death row"!
I can only assume that what he means is that if you have a manager who doesn't run up and down the touch line , shouting and screaming and being generally abusive to refs, or tries to gouge the eyes of other team's officials,or refuses to shake hands with opposing managers, but instead carries himself with dignity and respect, and doesn't dance to the media tune, then you are going to struggle!
I suppose dignity and respect are alien concepts at talksh*t

Depends how you interpret 'death row' - did he mean he looks like death warmed up - in which case, Wenger's of a similar stature sometimes. And his looks didn't stop us doing a double the season before last, so why should his looks matter now?
If he meant 'waiting for the sack at the end of the season' - that's another matter - but I still think personal pride will see him wanting to go out on a high.

I think Brenda is just as much on death row as any other manager out there. In 12 months, his squad has lost Suarez, Gerrard and now Sterling and somehow many deluded dipper sycophants seem to think the incoming Jimmy Milner is going to make a positive difference to them as much as his loss is going to prove a major blow to us. A couple of months without competitive football along with drinks on a sunny beach can obviously addle the brain somewhat.

Saggers must be feeling ill, City top, Aguero, Sterling Silva best 3 going, Toure if fit will be magnificent, Chelsea will be 5th!!!!!
