Talksport

I was at the game. Season ticket holder from Scotland. Premier League is all I can do when each match costs a couple of hundred when tickets, fuel and hotel are factored in. Of course it’s down to money, it really boils my piss that a working class fan base are ridiculed and criticised for not having sufficient money to attend every match whilst other clubs get a free pass. A couple of callers called that out and were quickly silenced.
It’s easy when you’ve got money to say surely you can afford....
not everyone can.
I’d turned if off by the time other callers rang in obviously.

The Burton game showed that we probably have 30k hardcore local fans who will turn up whatever the game, whatever the day & whatever the weather. There’s probably another 10k or so who struggle to make midweek games because the travelling is an issue. There’s probably 30k who pick and choose but probably go to 10 games a season or more. There’s probably another 30k who go to a game every now and again.

Monday night game against average opponents will see about 45k City fans there. That’s why we’re looking at different ticketing options but if City take a sales-driven approach then they’d adopt dynamic pricing, offering lower prices for less popular games the nearer kick-off gets. We could fill the ground but plenty on here would then moan about someone getting a ticket for £20 when they’d paid £40.

If the stadium is expanded, & we make more of an effort to get fans in, by doing as you say, we'll get bigger gates for these games than we get for the 'biggest' games now imo.

But still have empty seats.

Especially when it's usually by multi millionaires who fucking freeload into every match.

I'd agree with all that, with the possible exception of changing(lowering) the prices nearer kick off.
But yes, by all means have flexible pricing depending on the game. Burton was down, but we had 52K vs Rotherham - marvellous crowd I thought

It was a phenomenal crowd, particularly when you think that we probably don’t have every ST holder on the FA Cup scheme.

Turned it on because it was the only station talking footie on the way home, only it wasn't talking footie, It was talking plastic seats!
Do me a favour

No mention of the game, and when that thick fucker Ashley couldn't say, its because its on TV on a school night, I just put Smooth FM on.
Joke of a sport channel

Wolves went to the rags and got a point. They went to Arsenal & got a point. They got all 3 at Spurs recently. We put 3 past them without reply and this bunch of trolls just want to talk about seats.

Absolutely, We made them look like one of the most ordinary sides to ever come to our place

Wonder if Cundy can remember the last time he put his hand in his pocket and paid for a ticket to go to a football match ? , we might be the richest club in the world but our supporters definitely are not , we havent developed enough tourists yet , but no doubt our time will come , its the downside of the popularity contest called Premier League football, but also unfortunately a necessity if our club is to stay competitive

Empty seats is the editorial.

The night show is going on about it with a patronising rag making the argument.

Will Gavin carrying on the empty seat discussion and saying there is no southern agenda against City at TS. Then he says after the break we will continue to discuss the Manchester United vs Wolves game......fcukin hilarious.

Just a thought.

Why don’t Talk Shite, etc mention West Ham, Spurs, OK it’s Wembley, Arsenal, and most other PL clubs when it comes to empty seats?

Most clubs suffer from this fan made up and obsessive empty seat subject/banter, yet City seem to be the only club linked with it.

We all know it was started by United fans to beat us with as they had nothing else left to beat us with.

After Sheikh Mansour bought the club, the 34 years went, the ticker banner came down, we beat them in the semi final of the FA Cup, have dominated them for 10 years, the trophies came rolling in, and Pep, the Worlds best Football Manager became City Manager, United fans had nothing left to beat us with.

The narrative has spread throughout football. I can accept fans taking the piss, it’s part and parcel of football banter, but what I don’t get is that radio stations, newspapers, ex-footballers, and football pundits are also wading in en-masse, targeting City, and only City, ruthlessly.

From reading the thread, as I refuse to listen to Talkshite anymore, they have made it an issue, and are targeting City fans directly. Last night Talk Shite should have been discussing the match, the teams performance, how we’re not letting Liverpool walk away with the title, yet all they can do is wind up City fans, ‘get them to call up to defend ourselves over empty seats’ and continue pampering to the listening Rag, Scouse(Liverpool), Cockney masses(Arsenal).

It's an Alan partridge parody show the sports bar, it really is.
I'm voting for it as the best comedy show 2019, it's comedy gold some of the nuggets they come out with.
And here was me thinking Goldstein wanted to be taken as a serious broadcaster!
Wooosh.
