Had a quick dip in while in the bathroom...talkingragshite as usual Luke Shaw POTY at the swamp, Spurs fan (can't be real or if he was needs locking up) rang up & said he'd got into the Ajax game late and thought as it was approaching FT (it was actually approaching HT) so left with 3 mins of what he thought was FT left to beat the crowds. Next was Brazil boasting about his freebies around the world & my stint ended with they ringing ex-rag Bosnich who they couldn't hear as his kids were creating.

First intensional listen for quite a while and not missed much.

Gough is quite the contrast. I enjoy him talking about the cricket, he is knowledgable and informative. Then he pipes up with his uninformed drivel when football is the topic. I have to laugh though when he has a particular point of view and then immediately U Turns when someone calls in with a counter argument. It's all "Take it with a pinch of salt" radio.

My views of him have been somewhat tainted by the fact that when treating myself to 3 days hospitality at the oval test in 2013 I had the mis fortune to share them with him, 1 of them days was pretty much a total washout and seemed like a bar in the bar with the village idiot spouting off all day. iirc hes a barnsley\yoonited\spurs fan with a softspot for the dippers and Arsenal and Giles was a better bowler than warne as he didnt have the natural talent that warne did.

They are not employed to be "balanced". They are employed to attract listeners, the vast majority of whom are incapable of thinking for themselves and rely on TS (+ Sky, the sun etc) to tell them what their opinion should be.

I have said before, it is to create hits. Create drama. If both teams keep winning and City win the league it hasn't beend dramatic enough for the media. They want more twists.

I would argue there has still been enough drama and plenty of big goals. And with Origi and Kompany's goals this past week they got dramatic games.

But they will try anything to build up these final games. Any other time of the season Liverpool v Wolves is seen as much more of a challenge than us away at Brighton.
