Stuart Brennan (see above) was on the flight and confirmed the flight time.
 
It's utterly pathetic that some sections of the media are going out of their way to prove that Kiev is actually just up the road and not that far to travel. No other English club would get this sort of shite from them.
 
These posts are doing my head in! My wife tweeted Stuart Brennan who had been on the flight and asked him how long it took. Brennan stated it had lasted 3 1/2 hours.
 
It's irrelevant how long the flight took - and it's irrelevant we're playing tonight (as Shearer seemed completely focussed on in his slating of our choice to rest players on Sunday).

Bigger picture. We played Sunday at 4pm getting fucked over by the TV scheduling, when a Saturday game would have been perfect for both sides. Chelsea would have had a quick turn around but they were an hour away in Paris and are off until the weekend.

We then play a CL knockout in Eastern Europe in the cold, then a League Cup final on Sunday in London and then a league game midweek. We want to fight in all competitions and 1 day might not matter if you look at the Kiev game in isolation. But look at playing Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday - all away from home and including 7hrs of flying (return) it's far from fucking ideal with 13 first team players fit going into the first game!

The media don't want us to win anything anyway so they should be happy!
 
Collymore still has me on block on Twitter just because I questioned his integrity so instead of replying he blocked me and hid behind abuse I get on Twitter stuff. I can understand him blocking certain Neanderthals but to block people with genuine questions just show she is scared to answer people who can reply withouttalksprt cutting them off

Stan "The Man" is so far up his own arse I'm surprised he hasn't swallowed up in a black hole himself.
 
Kiev is in a time zone whic is three hours ahead of the UK so the players body clocks will have to adjust to that and then readjust when we get back. I'm sure Shearer and his allies took thins into consideration.
 
Flight from Manchester carrying the players took 2hrs 30 mins apparently. Flight from Gatwick on Monday took 2 hrs 35 mins. Flights going back (which are the important ones for the players because they depart just after 2 am here) will presumably be into the headwind and will take about 3 1/2 hours.

ah, the difference between timetable quotes times and actual times? That makes some sense.

My son got blocked by Collymore for an innocuous comment. It seems to be the only way he can operate. From time to time he tries to get that TS call about him hitting Ulrika banned but it has a habit of coming back.

I saw Jason Burt make a comment that the flight would take three hours 'with a tail wind'. Now it seems that a group of sniggering schoolboys even in the serious papers as well as the comics to comment about the length of a flight. I don't ever think I have seen so called journalists being collectively so silly - but what will they do if City are the only English team into the next round?

The term gentlemen of the press was coined by someone very sarcastic.

Gough says the managerial announcement has derailed the team. Obviously he'd not been watching us before. The only difference since the Pep news is that we have played two of the best teams in the league and it was no surprise that we got beaten.

And Jacobs going on about our team selection against his side in the cup. I wonder how Chelsea would have approached this cup tie if they'd been playing PSG today and the LC on Sunday followed by Liverpool away next week and they were missing Bony/Remi, KdB/Hazard, Nasri/Oscar. Sagna/Ivanovic, Mangala/Zouma, Delph/Matic, and Navas/Willian.

Not really heard anything about this ridiculous injury list. Lots of these are exactly the people who would have been playing sunday thus giving Pellegrini the chance to rest our key players who are going to play 3 times in 7 days.
 
What difference does it make? The fact is it's three huge games in 7 days, or four in eleven so obviously, with our injuries, something had to give. I could not really care what gobs bites like Collymore and Jackson say.

I can see where Shearer is coming from, in a way. When he was a player, and had to go out of the North East, he had to adjust his body clock by up to 200 years forwards then backwards after every game. These current day players have never had it so good.
