I've been in touch with the Tax Office who tell me I'm due a rebate, somewhere around the £500 mark but they hadn't got my p60 so couldn't process it 'til they got a copy of that from my employers and details from Job Centre plus on how much I'd claimed while I was out of collar for 3 months last year.
I got my p60 last week at work, so I'm assuming they've got a copy by now but I've been on to the Job Centre and they're saying they no longer have records for me as they're archived after 6 months.
Anyone got any ideas about how I can get the info I need to the Tax Office to get my rebate.

You will have to put it in writing to the the jobcentre plus, they have to hold records for 6 years.

Wording to use to write to the jobcentreplus office.
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is ...............and my address is...................My national insurance number is ...............
Hmrc need forms P45 (u) Part 1 A Jobseekers Allownce Claim for the tax year........... unfortunately, i do not have these forms.
Please send me the computer printout containing these details ('Tax Details Enquiry Screen, JA509529 printout') and stamp it with the Jobcentre Plus office address stamp.
I will then send the information you give me to HMRC.

Same with me. I was on emergency tax for 3 months and they owe me about £400. Don't bother trying to use the helpline either because it's just a scam at 5p a minute and I waited 40 minutes and no-one answered.

If you give your employer a few weeks to submit their P14s you should get a repayment automatically.
