Taylor Harwood-Bellis - move to Southampton completed.

Nmecha is also crying out for a loan,in fact he should be top of the list IMO.

I'd love Braaf to see sense and do the same, but i suspect that ship has long since sailed.
I think Nmecha should’ve gone this year. He’s got lots of ability but he just never convinced me for the EDS or even the u18s a few years back.

That’s where the club probably needs to see how he translates to senior football. Something could just click.

I think he could be a real slow burner, like his brother, because they have such a languid style. Like his brother I’m just not convinced they’ll make it here whereas the others I mentioned, I believe, have a better chance.

Blackburn loan not happening according to Sky, City want to keep him around the squad. If nothing else it suggests he will be involved against Birmingham at the weekend

I thought he was hung out to dry a bit tonight. Barely played any top flight football and asked to play out of position.

I’d have played him at centre back

Was on a hiding to nothing. Didn’t really do anything wrong but was never going to be a good fit at RB.

People are saying he's played out of position... but is he really?

He's basically played as a wide RCB in a back 3 (with Mendy going left wing back).

This is Stones position all the time when Cancelo plays, Cancelo tucks ito midfield and Stones is the RCB in the back 3 often.

Position is no excuse. I don't think he played poorly, but he didn't play well either, but considering his age I'm not arsed about it.

Didn't do much wrong, easy scapegoat tonight.
Every single pass he made bar one was backwards to Garcia. Hate to say it but he had zero ambition, he must be miles away from being at the level required for the first team.
Big shame as tonight was a great opportunity to show how good he could be

He'll never be a first team regular,he isn't good enough, the best he can hope for is a bloody good loan and a chance to impress another Prem club.

I don’t think he’s good enough but it was a joke decision to play him at RB and Garcia who can’t wait to fuck off in his normal position. Felt for him.

He was ok today but I think he needs a loan. It’s still worth remembering he’s playing for the City first team at 18 - Ruben Dias didn’t make his debut for the Benfica first team until well after his 20th birthday. (I’m not saying he’ll ever be as good as Dias, just using it as an example)

I think we can all be forgiven for being a bit blinkered by Foden's rise but we need to remember that this kid is only 18 and he still has time to develop. It's way to early to right him off as not being good enough.

To be fair to the lad, this is exactly how Walker plays and some on here think Walker is the best RB in the world. At least THB has an excuse that he isnt a RB.

he attempted quite a few switches to the far side of the pitch.

I think your opinion is ridiculously harsh. One game (hes barely played for the first team) and out of position and your writing him off... in a game where no one, other then Phil played well.

he’s played previously and has shown he can pass forward as well, against Preston being a perfect example. He has lots of potential, but our fans need some patience and not to expect top class performances every game from 18 year olds.

lots of posters criticised Phil when he started playing as well and some still do when he’s out of form.

I find it bizarre how posters can so easily just write off 17/18 year olds based on the odd game or half

Are people really writing the kid off already? The kids a centre half who has been played at right back tonight, not sure what many really expect to be honest. I think it’s better to judge him when he’s played in his natural position. I think as a centre back he maybe needs a decent loan move to further his development to really see him week in week out and deal with the physicality of senior football.

I thought Taylor played well at Preston as well and I think he is a better prospect than Garcia. But tonight he seemed to lack confidence and so did Tommy Doyle. To make the grade you have to stand out, even as a teenager. Both Nedum and Micah looked much better at the same age and it was easier to get a game in the first team in those days. You have to grab your chance when it comes.

We were playing Cheltenham Town

Yeah too many posters make a habit of making big declarations about players's futures here. Maybe they turn out correct but there's a certain eagerness to make these posts that's disappointing.

Can't just say a player wasn't great, they have to say he'll never make it.
