These sorts of picks are impossible for me.

Are we to pick a best 11 holistically - able to perform as a unit, cohesively, under our manager of choice? Or is it pick players willy-nilly? Who are the "best" at their position.

De Gea - for example - great shot stopper - but if you want to play it from the back - he's godawful.

Pep as manager - no way I'd start DG.
