Seasons In The Sun - Terry Jacks

we had joy we had fun
we had united on the run
but the joy did not last
cos the bastards ran too fast

Dont go breaking my heart, by Elton John and Kiki Dee. It was my mams favourite and played it at her funeral.

Top song my favourite ever. If you have ever watched a 90's series called OUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH i challenge you not to be welling up at the end as this song is playing. Best ending ever.

I know he claims it isnt meant to be a sad song but it sure sounds like it to me.

The bit with his wife watching and the wine sets me off every time.

And me.

I know it aint a song but the Last Post at Rememberance Day Service gets me.

I went back to Normandy with my dad two years ago for the 65th anniversary
of the D-Dday landings the first time he had been back since that day in 1944

there was a memorial service held in Bayeux cathedral for the few hundred veterans that could make the trip most for the last time due to age taking it`s toll

standing next to me dad and all those brave men as the last post reverberated around the cathedral had me blubbering ...heres the vid from 4 mins or watch it all

How does 505 make you cry? Can I ask? The ending is superb. Alex Turner at his lyrical peak.
