I dunno about you Mark, but I'm feeling positive this week. Who knows, in a fortnight my life might be back in the toilet. Help us out here, what's going so badly?

Nothing changes. Lost everything that meant world to me and nothing can replace that. I will trudge on. No words can makes me feel better and I don't mean that in a negative way, it's just the reality.

Rebuilding the shattered pieces of my life from half a decade ago and coming out properly on top feels indescribable. There isn't a day goes by where I don't spontaneously laugh out loud to myself about the journey I've been on and how the destination I've arrived at is all I ever dreamed of, and more.

Losing everything and coming back takes some beating in terms of self-affirmation and vindication. Luck plays its part, as does resilience and an ability to make people 'buy into' you, and recognising the importance of all those factors gives you a fighting chance.

Hate to quote such a crypto-fascist as Richard Nixon, but he was so right when he said:

Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.
