Tempering the Guardiola Optimism

I hate this thread so much.

It's just so typical Bluemoon. The greatest manager on the planet has finally agreed to come here, something everyone has been hoping will happen for 3 years.

And what's the first thing that happens?

Someone sets up a thread to try and undermine how big an achievement it is, play down how good he is, and provide a platform for other pessimists to spout a load of ignorant crap you'd expect to see in the "pep to city" thread on ragcafe.

I honestly think this thread is the worst of this forum all wrapped into one package. Only a matter of time before #PepOut begins.

I would agree but that would be contributing to the thread.

Shit.

On the surface at least it will not be easy as a lot of work needs to be done in terms of getting new players, shifting old players and working on the EDS. The team is still in the transition phase and the league will continue to get competitive. This is why it was major that we got the perfect manager to take the steering wheel at this pivotal time in the club.

In fairness it won't be that big a shock to him, Bayern defended just like City last night

cant wait for the guy to arrive, his type of play to watch is the most entertaining in the world, its another step up..

Imagine Guardiola on his first day in charge picking a random PL game from this season and saying to all those playing "right guys dont go home at 1.30pm after training I have a video to show you all". He gathers the players round in a room and says "right lads here is a recording of your howler passes that put us in the shit or gave away a throwing, plus the times we passed back to the keeper and launched it 60m in to no man's land". And makes them watch it 50 fukin times !

Sounds like an excellent way to bond with the team. I wish my boss did the same with me on his first day. ;)

Still excited op

This post is why I hate bluemoon, you've taken the thread completely out of context to suit your own agenda.

I have said I'm extremely happy, I've only tried to point out the scale of the job the guy has on when he comes. I've asked for patience, we all know he is going to be undermined in the media.

It's the opposite of pep out mentality.

I don't accuse pellegrini of as much wrong doing as some on here would have you believe. A lot of problems exist within the squad for pep to fix. It may take time.

It's the toughest job he's taken on.

All I'm saying is, don't expect us to be a guardiola team in august..
