They were so depleted that £60m signing Mason Mount had to play 80 minutes, as did the viking, Erling... sorry, £80m Rasmus Hojland. If £82m Anthony had been able to last more than 60 minutes, things might have been different, but, once they were deprived of all that goal scoring power, it wasn't surprising that a comeback was beyond them. Until the subs came on, 4-0 wasn't insurmountable, but, after that, full credit to Trafford's best for coming away with a single figure defeat in what was arguably their toughest game to date, with resources so depleted.
