A giant of British literature pasted away today, anyone who has ever read one of his books will tell you he was a master story teller, and the world will be a poorer place without being able to look forwards to another tale from him.

R.I.P. Terry...........wibble!

Genuinely saddened by this. One of my favourite authors, I think I've laughed more reading his books than at anything else, tv shows and films included.
That's two out of three of my favourite authors who have died far too soon. I bet Bernard Cornwell is shitting it now.

R.I.P Terry.

Fought tirelessly to bring Alzheimer's disease to public attention

A deserved RIP this time

Brilliant writer and an inspiration to anyone feeling overwhelmed by circumstances when he refused to let being diagnosed with Alzheimer's change his daily life, will be sadly missed, thanks for all the great books and stories, plenty of laughs and memories to cherish. R.I.P.

Very sad. Loved his books. A general all round good egg, by all accounts. A mate of mine ran a pub in Wincanton, where they used to do Discworld theme nights once in a while, and Pratchett used to turn up in person.
Also wrote children's books, and the collaborations with Stephen Baxter, that were more at the sci-fi end of the genre. Heightened the public interest in Alzheimer's and assisted dying. Was a patron of the British Humanist Society.
Thanks for the laughs Terry, will be sadly missed.

So sad, have read all of his books after finding 'Pyramids' in '91
He's written some memorably funny books with Men At Work and Mort being two favourites.

Such a shame Altzeimers took over him in later life and has left a lot of sad fans today, I'll bet.

"COME ON TERRY, LOOK YOUR SAND HAS ALL RUN OUT, THEY WILL JUST HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO POKE FUN AT THE ESTABLISHMENT NOW" said the bony fingered figure in black as he swung his scythe one more time, two small lights shining brightly where his eye should be.

Horrible disease my Mother in Law passed away after suffering with it.
One consolation even though can't be sure is family and friends suffer as much , patients seem to be oblivious at the end stages.
More research please.
