That been said he has not been great for a while and probably does not even deserve his place in the starting 11. We are unlikely to win in the world cup so perhaps it's time to take a young team with some experience in Gerrard, Defoe, Cole, Lampard and maybe Carrick depending on the progression/injuries of Wilshere and Rodwell.
In my opinion England only really ever under achived with Mclaren, who was a shit manager. We are between 3-10 in the world, but have a mental block at penalties. Terry has been a good servant for England, but if he is found guilty of racism, which it looks like he has been cannot exactly play for England.
