By knowing your shit and spending money(and probably making a few quid back in the process).

With that info, £ and lots of reading (and a tad of aptitude) you too could get close.

I make none of mine, my servers can't be hosting this that and the other you see for security. The ip's i like to keep a secret.

You could though host a bunch of websites or sell vps/vpn services and earn the cost back. Due to the nature of what my servers do though i cannot do this so it's a labour of love really, an expensive hobby if you will.

A good tip is if you do get into computing big, then run a vps hosting company, with the new acta/sopa law's many many are turning to an offshore vps with ssl to hide all traffic they use to and from home.
