how can anyone say irelnad is shit just cos he had one bad season if we bought messi and he had one bad season people wouldnt say he was crap and sell him

i know you cant really compare messi to ireland but to call ireland crap makes me think did you support city 2 years ago best young player in the premiership

WHo said he's got no pace?

He's not as quick as Bellamy or SWP over 5 yards but he's no slouch. He's quick enough for the way he plays. YOu don't see him outpaced.

Ireland is just not good enough. Last season he was a moderate player in a poor team. He can't or won't tackle or head the ball, has no pace, loses concentration etc. etc.

He goes missing in games against the so called big four and gives 'hospital' passes to make himself look good.

Q. Who failed to track Scholes? A. Ireland. Result, goal and game lost.

Put him up for sale and see which one of our nearest rivals will make a decent or even any offer.

You can't play the way he has played, scored the goals he has scored, done the running he has run and been player of the year if he's effluent.

This season has been a great disappointment for his fans, who probably outnumber those who aren't, but more so to himself.

I hope he isn't offloaded to another EPL team 'cos I think he's just waiting to explode into life again. And he's yet another one who will come back to . . . . . . . . . .

I must admit I find that those who slag Stevie off must be clueless. It's one thing to say he has flaws in his game - he does indeed, and they could do with ironing out - but these fans who think he's useless need their heads checking.

They simply can't be watching the same game as me.

Anyone who has played the game or who has a good knowledge of it knows that Ireland is a class act. Yes, we can all have our opinions.

But I believe there would be a very clear demarcation if you got the ones who say he's "shit"( like that fucking numpty a couple of posts above) and the ones who know he can play (who I believe include Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger)

The ones who say he shit will look like this, in the main:

You know the type. Fat, sweaty south stand bellends who's sum total of knowledge about the game amounts to "he's shit", "he's lazy" and "munich bastard".

I'd rather trust my own eyes, the opinion of the City fans I call freinds and Ferguson and Wenger.

You really do believe your a superior city fan to most and anyone who doesnt agree with ya is a 'scarfer' who knows fuck all about the game.

Irelands shown himself to be a good top half premership midfielder but he is not good enough to play for a team chasing top 4 or the title. He doesnt have enough about him to cut it with the best, look at the midfields of the teams around us and Ireland wouldnt really get into any. Fact is were a better team this season without him.

As for the fergie and wenger think he's a good player, they'd say that about most players if asked about them, would either jump at the chance to sign him if given the chance? I ver much doubt it.
