1 very big question that nobody has asked..... if Tevez agreed to a deal with the rags would this transfer of been completed by now?

imo it would!

Why is that a big question?

3rd party ownership mate, the rags would prob got away without the scrutiny so concluding a deal quickly.

I think he meant that other clubs seem to tie up players contracts quicker than we do, i think he has a point.

Gareth Barry? Santa Cruz took a few days, no more. Perhaps this is more complicated/not a one horse race.

were probably takin time with the paperwork so we dont into any troble like the west ham sheff utd affair over teves

be lucky to get all our deals done by september at this rate
The majority of clubs haven't bought anyone yet. We've bought 3 and other deals seem well advanced.

If you turned the clock back to a "normal season" you wouldn't like it.

Going back to basics on the Tevez transfer saga, has the Argentinian ever publicly stated that he wants to play for us?

I ask for the simple reason that having read so often - mainly on this message board - that he is 'nailed-on' and we would hear circa 1/7/09 that he is going to be a City player, I took it almost for granted that it was just a matter of fact that it would be made official at the beginning of this month.

Is there any hard evidence to support the case that we are overwhelming favourites to sign him apart from:-

1) Speculation that because he has made arrangements for his kid(s)welfare/education locally,
2) Speculation in the media that he is 'nailed on' to be playing at Eastlands from next month
3) Bookmaker odds offering 1/7 his next club is us
4) So called ITK's whose provenance may be entirely bogus
5) Er.....that's it

From the time KJ stated that three English clubs and two European clubs were to be consulted with mid/late June, I have heard nothing from any official source that he is any nearer to joining us today - 6th July - than was the case three weeks ago.

Personally, I don't particularly find the 'the legal paperwork at the FA' line either persuasive or reassuring. At this point in the matter, I would by now have expected a holding statement from the club offering the supporters clear, unambiguous information as to the progress (or lack of ) being made to acquire Tevez. The silence is now become almost deafening and if there are any doubts about the matter being resolved in our favour, it is only because there is such a dearth of verifiable information from worthwhile sources coming into the public domain.

Given the visability of our interest in Eto,o and Terry, with both deals stalling significantly. I would have thought our owners would want to announce Tevez ASAP? Big coup for the club and all that!

Turned down rags weeks ago! Loan expired last week! I think it may be time to stiffen the backs and wait for a backlash when he does not sign! Walk away and move on to the next target for me.

Impatient? Too fecking right i am. Decades of shite has shaped my need for good news NOW!

Cold wet cloth, dark room, lie down for an hour!!!!!!!!
