V exciting to think we should know what's happening by end of tomorrow....
i hope that's true as this is dragging on and on, but i take even that with a grain or two of salt.
i enjoy these speculative threads--i even enjoy the red tops--but i don't believe anything until it's on the official site.
think of it this way--let's say for the sake of argument all our would-be ITKs are indeed ITKs--even if they are right about some player X having signed a pre-contract had a medical etc... it ain't a done deal until they've signed on the dotted line. more often than not a player will honor pre-contract agreements but they don't seem to be legally binding do they.
remember the Kaka deal? all our would-be ITKs are STILL being slated for saying it was basically a done deal. i don't think that's entirely fair. if you were a genuine ITK chances are the people you talked to inside the club DID think it was a done deal. clearly, judging from his tantrum, our Garry thought it was a done deal too. so as an ITK you'd want to pass that info along. but the thing is, Kaka had not signed a binding agreement, and the whole house of cards collapsed. abusing the ITK in this case is a bit like shooting the messenger i think. yes, anyone--even me--could make up ITK stuff just to be a big man on a website, and there deffo are WUMs out there who get off on making stuff up. but i don't think abusing apparent ITKs is the answer. NONE of them CAN speak gospel; the ONLY gospel is a signed, binding contract. all abusing them will do is scare them off from sharing juicy gossip, some of which *might* genuinely come from inside the club.
as for Tevez... i hope we get Tevez, we need more quality up front and more firepower... but i'm still creaming over the Barry deal. assuming 'binho plays on the left wing, Barry in left-center will make both bridge and 'binho better. people seem to take the Barry signing for granted, but i think it will prove to be a major coup. but then hey i think Kompany was as important a signing as 'binho, so maybe i just have an inordinate fondness for defensive middies (although vinnie's more of a natural center half).
