Arsenal legend Ian Wright believs Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool target Carlos Tevez should join Manchester City.

The former Crystal Palace striker told the Sun: “Carlos Tevez is understandably in huge demand after a frustrating season for him at Manchester United

“Few can cross the Manchester divide without unleashing a relentless torrent of bile."

"Fans consider that as unforgivable disloyalty in most cases.”

“But Tevez is one of a small number who could get away with it. If he leaves Manchester United this summer, he should go to Manchester City.”

He added: “Tevez has done enough to show he is desperate to play for United but, unbelievably, the powers-that-be can’t make up their minds whether to sign him permanently.”

“So it wouldn’t look as if he had jumped ship if he left Old Trafford for Eastland’s.”

“He would join a swell of big-name players hoping to bring great things to the club.

"Samuel Eto’o at Barcelona would sit up and take notice — for sure.”

“Tevez is like a Duracell battery — he just does not give up and would be such a key player for boss Mark Hughes.”

“With Robinho already there and with Stephen Ireland in midfield, joined by new signing Gareth Barry on the left wing or at left-back, it could mark the start of the next stage in City’s ambitious plans to take on the Big Four in the Premier League.”

A decision on the former West Ham star’s future is set to made at the end of the week when all interested parties will have had the opportunity to speak to Tevez’s owner Kia Joorabchian.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the player.

Don't you think it's funny how a week or so ago, Ian Wright had sources saying that the deal is done and dusted, but now he's saying "IF he leaves Manchester United this summer". I thought it was a done deal Wrighty!? Surely there's no "if" about it? Why doesn't he just admit that he's a WUM?

I dont think Ian Wright did say it was a done deal, he was told by his sources, so in effect, he's exactly the same as the ITK's on here.

He's filled in there a few times, but I agree I wouldn't play him there unless we had major injuries.

If Bridge was injured, I'd play him there. Garrido is defensivley poor.

I know! Wright hasn't got a clue. The fact that Barry said in his press conference that Hughes has told him he'll be in central midfield obviously means nothing to him.

He's filled in there a few times, but I agree I wouldn't play him there unless we had major injuries.

If I thought the player could have been persuaded I would have considered paying him extra to play at left back, when he has had to do it he is exceptional there but you lose what he gives you in the middle.
