This samual eto'o business does not strike me as a typical hughes signing. Tevez does however. I think he's being pushed into it and would probably choose someone else other than eto'o IMO

Not sure about that tbh but if you knew 1 of the top 5 strickers in the world was availible and you are the manager would you not be intrested ??????

This guy is the best Stricker I can think of!
MH would be daft if he didn't want Eto'o, who else would he go for Darren Bent lol!

From the Guardian:

Carlos Tevez has said that Sir Alex Ferguson "made a mistake" by not starting him in Manchester United's Champions League final defeat by Barcelona. The forward has also spoken of his pain at regularly being among the substitutes last season as he prepares to end his stint at Old Trafford.

Tevez's contract expires today and he is expected to move to Manchester City after turning down the offer of a fresh deal. He believes his last game for United, against Barcelona in Rome, would have ended differently had he been selected from the beginning rather than thrown on for the second half with the team 1–0 down.

"You cannot argue with Alex Ferguson," he said. "He is like the president of England. It is impossible. You always lose. But he made a mistake to leave me on the bench. That was the only final the team had lost since I had been at Manchester United."

Tevez has no regrets at rejecting the chance to extend his two-year stay at Old Trafford. "My family knows how much I suffered at United. I could not arrive home after a match or a training session and forget my pain. It was not good and I transmitted all my sadness to them."

If he really did say those things, he's slamming the swamp door firmly behind him.

"President of England", eh? I can see someone being a bit pissed off with that.

Ha I dont care what anyone says Ive heard from numerous sources including people who spent some time with Forlans marketing guys that Ferguson is incredibly pig headed and difficult to deal with. People say players think their bigger than the club, but in the swamp it is the backonface thinks he runs the show their. The rags follow him blindly no matter what he does and the press believe everyone wants to play for United. Let me tell you theres more than a few disgruntled players who have left United at the way theyve been treated Cough, "Tevez, Forlan, Tim Howard, Roy Carroll and Veron" to name a few. All is not right at the moment at the swamp they simply never lose two players of this qaulity in a short space of time without something being up.

Wonderful news, nothing I'd like to see more than Baconface actually screw Man Ure up before he goes. With their debts if he signs a few wronguns and they drop out of the top 4 it could all collapse in on them.

No, it's not. Today is Eto'o conference day @ 10.00 am

Yeh and depending on how that goes, it's either going to be a really long bad day, or a really short good day.

Anyone else at the stage of "GRRR AHHHH ARGHHHH"... bit like a caveman? I've lost all hope with the Tevez deal and gave up about a week ago, hopefully he'll sign sooner rather than later.
