Tevez misses penalty!

Yeah you can play it for a couple of seconds then if there was none bring it back and give the freekick or penalty.

That's the point, there was an advantage and it was played by the referee. It isn't the referee's fault he missed the open goal.
An example of no advantage would have been if an opposing player had intercepted the ball, or the ball had ran out of play for a goal kick.

If he doesn't score straight away he can give the pen still, the save means no advantage. That is how I see it anyway, advantage to the attacking side.

Yes I don't disagree, but, the advantage was played and it accrued when the shot went in. Referee's cannot be held responsible for players lack of ability.
It was a complete different phase of play too, no way should that have been called back for the penalty IMO.
It doesn't matter anyway as it wasn't scored, but IMO, that was a bad call from the referee.
