Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara has selected Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez as his player of the weekend following the Argentine’s decisive brace against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Wayne Rooney’s goalscoring cameo performance for Manchester United against Aston Villa in the Carling Cup Final came a close second but the player-turned-pundit felt it difficult to look past his Blue counterpart.
Both Tevez and Rooney have set English football alight this season as both Manchester City and Manchester United fight for honours.
With both men expected to be huge stars at the forthcoming World Cup, Kamara revealed his admiration for both the United and City strikers.
“Carlos Tevez flew in from Argentina and only met up with the other players again on Friday after taking some time out to look after his wife in difficult circumstances.
“For him to go out on Saturday and play so well was outstanding. He scored two goals and perhaps the goalkeeper should have done better on the first, but Tevez was the main instigator and threat throughout the match.”
