Texas - State

Been there twice. Once very briefly while doing Route 66 and then just before Covid on another driving trip. Really liked San Antonio and Austin, thought Dallas/Fort Worth were ok, and Amarillo an absolute shithole.

Started and ended the trip in Denver, which we absolutely loved. Really funky city.
 
Certainly an interesting spot. Go to Houston a lot. Great food options and the city supporters club is doing well. Not as cheap as it used to be, but the steaks at ‘Taste of Texas’ are the best I’ve had anywhere.

Decent weather most of the time, but they certainly overdose on Fox News in those parts. Learnt not to engage them in politics discussions.

Drink/drunk driving seems to be the norm, so the I10 can be a bit of a zoo.
