Th' em wer days!

...under the "broken light" that used to occasionally flicker to life to great cheers. over towards the away fans.

Happy days (though I have to say the 100% aberdeen angus beefburger topped with grilled best back bacon, melted cheese and a fresh salad in a knotted, soft seeded roll with hand cooked jacket chips is something of an improvement on the catering front!!)

I know, but I do miss those little push along hot dog carts where if they ran out of ketchup, the guy was happy to trim a dirty finger nail or two and sprinkle over the top to give it an extra crunch.

Oh, the smell of piss, horse shit and bovril while happily munching on one of them!

....when you say piss, horse shit AND bovril.......?

Can't remember exactly but probably sat on a barrier in scoreboard end. Then when North Stand was being built sat on front wall of kippax level with 18 yard box, North Stand end. Then stood in the North Stand after concrete was down and they let you back in bottom tier, left hand side of goal. Once they put the seats in we moved to the corner of Kippax and North stand, firstly sat on the wall at the front next to St. John ambulance old couple then moved onto the sloping wall between Kippax and corner section. It was there where I had my blue/white/maroon bar scarf nicked against Everton in about '74, it was draped round my neck. After a good cry my dad bought me a new scarf the next week. I found it in the loft when we started wearing the maroon topped socks and after a wash it was as good as new. The scarf has been with me to every home game since and FA cup SF & Final.

Used to sit on t'right 'and side o' Platt Lane End wall in t'early 70's, that were after sitting' in Platt Lane seats when we were too likkul fer Kippax. Blue bench seats wi' thin white lines painted on t'seat and t'back, not individual seats.
Used to park t'pushbike in someone's back yard up a ginnel fer ten bob a match. Gorrus 'ome through t'traffic right quick.
Grand times.

Used to sit on the sloping white wall on the Kippax side, between the Kippax and the North stand, in front of the Picadilly 261 sign and if I couldn't see the game I would climb up the blue girder in the Kippax corner. I used to wear monkey boots and the old men started to call me the monkey boy because of the boots...... oh and also because of the prehensile tail I had and my excessively hairy face and arms :-)
Do you now play for Tottenham?
