Where would people recommend and avoid?

How would you book it ie book the flights only and sort yourself when you get there or book the package or what. And if the package who with.

Wanna go for a fortnight, see bankok for a couple of nights and at least one other.

avoid bangkok at the minute mate, the thai's are tearing the place up

Depends on the time of year. I went in November last year and had to stick to the western areas. Myself and herself flew into bangkok, stayed for a night and then made our own way to Phuket, Phi Phi and Krabi. Phi Phi was by far and away the best. Very laid back island. The Thai people are really friendly, always smiling. Had an excellent time and I would recommend it to anyone. One of the lads just got back from Samui and he loved it there too

Depends what your after, would avoide Phuket and Pattaya as their just scum holes, but maybe worth a day visit at most. Koh Phangan, and Koa Toa (Simple Life, Big Blue, Lotus Bar, Maya, In Touch Bar), Kanchanaburi 2 hours north of Bangkok, where the river kwai is and the erawan waterfalls and tiger temple. Upto Chaing Mai and Pai especially great little town really chilled. Bangkok of course rocks little dangerous but great night life. Just love the place.

I have been twice with my missus and obviously fly into Bangkok and then travel down to a place called Hua Hin. ABsolutely beautiful, it is where the royal holiday home is so cannot be too bad.

After two weeks there fly back to Bangkok and and enjoy the city. Don`t do Bangkok first as you`ll be knackered and won`t enjoy it due to the heat, humidity.....

YOu lucky git enjoy yourselves.

In Hua Hin a hotel to stay in is called the Anantara, fantastic but not cheap. Contact them direct for cheap deals.

Bangkok is great my favourite City in the world but would,nt stay tthere for 2 weeks.Head down to the islands they.re nice stay clear of Pattaya seedy hole unless thats what your into...

Don't do a package tour. Sort it yourself. Etihad and Qatar Airways both have excellent deals at the moment from Manchester or Heathrow via Abu Dhabi and Doha, respectively. Alternatively, KLM usually have good deals through Amstedam. Book your internal flights through <a class="postlink" href="http://www.airasia.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" target="_blank">http://www.airasia.com</a> (ridiculously cheap).

Use <a class="postlink" href="http://www.agoda.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" target="_blank">http://www.agoda.com</a> or <a class="postlink" href="http://www.asiarooms.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" target="_blank">http://www.asiarooms.com</a> to book accommodation anywhere in Thailand. Both are ultra reliable and I've used them many times.

I can recommend the Majestic Grande in Bangkok. 5-star hotel and only about 45 quid a night. Great location too for shopping, nightlife, skytrain....
