I can thank him for the 100% he puts into most games, but nope, I'll never forgive him for the 6 months he disappeared to come back and pick up his £200k per week as if nothing changed. World class gets thrown around too much....world class are irreplaceable players....there are just as good players out there to sign if he leaves.

I also thought that he would never be able to put on our shirt again after Bayern however if you look at the standing ovation he got today then that says it all. He has been an amazing player for us and apart from the obvious blip I don't think any other player would have been able to get his place in the team back and get the ovation he got today after what happened in Munich. I was genuinely gutted when that happened but I have forgiven because he gives 100% on the pitch everytime!!!

I think that says a lot about our ambition to keep players. We refused to sell him unless a big asking price was matched and hopefully that set a precedent.
