Would have liked another season or two out of him, but that's how you bow out. City legend no doubt, and a player that won't be forgotten in the premier league

The goal to win us the league against Villa, and the two goals against 'treble buster' wannabe's united to win the first ever Manchester derby FA Cup final, with the first being a stunning volley and the quickest goal in fa cup history, they're some big moments right there, the second truly historic and who knows how long he will hold that record for?

He made lockdown a lot easier for us when he went on that mental goalscoring run that helped win us the league, after a poor start when him and Rodri just weren't working together

Just the same as Sterling, Jesus, Zinchenko last year, if a player really wants to move on, we won’t get in their way. It’s stuff like this that helps us attract top players in the first place. Today stings but you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth.

I think his turning point was the goal against the rags after 40 odd passes. What a servant.

A player who contributed a massive amount to our success despite taking a while to find his feet in the shadow of David Silva. I remember watching him score two goals against Barcelona and returning to my car to find it had been broken into and not really being that upset as I was on such a high.
Hope he has more luck at Barcelona than Kun, Torres and Garcia.

It was his choice and his wife ! There have been no contract talks he was always going ! He had served us well and should go with our blessing, think he wanted a new challenge and change of lifestyle

That’s what gets me about footballers and especially their wives always think and live in the present and don’t ever imagine that it’s possible to live in beautiful places after they retire. Surely a couple more years in Manchester playing with such a successful team is better than playing for a struggling team albeit in a nice city.

Pity our captain has decided to leave. It’s his decision and we need to respect that. Great servant. One of the most intelligent players I’ve known. Underrated in his first few seasons. And a humble person on and off the field.

I don’t lose sleep when a player leaves. We have seen this before and we get stronger.

Hopefully he returns in a coaching role for us but I doubt it if his family don’t wanna live in Manchester.

Good luck to the player. Not to Barca. That club is awful but UEFA at least won’t hunt them down.
