Thank You Kyle Walker

A bit harsh there. However, I do suspect there's element of truth with being slightly weak of character.

I don't doubt both Pep & Kyle had a great relationship & its probably because of this that Kyle couldn't do another face to face with Pep about his future. A bit like when you've got some bad news & you sometimes procrastinate & take the easy option.

Also the last time Kyle spoke face to face with Pep about his future he did a U-turn & stayed at the club instead of pursing his interest in Munich. Kyle probably didn't want to be talked out of this time round, which Pep is more than capable of doing.
The bloke had a piss weak mentality and with his private antics clearly had fuck all respect for his own family either.

Thanks for the memories but glad he's gone.

A great player for us, but the right time to go. His performances on the pitch had been on the decline and the chaos in his private life was spewed over the press on a weekly basis; that is not who we are.

Best wishes to Kyle and his family for the future.

I understand Kyle not going straight to Pep. Kyle needed to get away for a number of reasons, few of them related to City really.
He had a great relationship with Pep and didn't want to let him down and was reluctant to go direct to him.
I did it once with a boss I got on extremely well with and I actually knew from another source that he wanted to promote me and I hated having to tell him that I had been interviewed for and offered another job. So I went to his Boss and told her instead explaining to her why I didn't want to go direct.
It happens, we don't want to upset our 'idols'/people we respect.

Good luck Kyle I hope everything gets back on an even keel for you now. :-)

In a 1-1 draw v Inter on Sunday, and seeing Inter's equaliser he was static, so normal service has been resumed very quickly
I saw some highlights of the game - he got skinned three or four times.

His pace has gone and his positioning and concentration haven’t improved.

This.

Sorry but I’m just not fawning over a guy who while yes was a fantastic footballer, was a complete and utter dickhead of a human being and an embarrassment to the club off the pitch.

Zabaleta represented everything great about this club on and off the pitch and was the perfect role model.
A bit harsh. Some of the worlds greatest sportsmen have been flawed individuals off the pitch.

A large proportion of our fanbase, (reflected by a percentage on here) have turned into absolute entitled, vindictive, ungrateful cretins.

Why is it that almost every bloody player who has either just arrived, currently plays, or has just departed is slated and ridiculed by supposed fans of the club?

Many of the players who have come in for the most criticism are absolute legends of the club who have been major drivers in allowing you to hold your head high going into work year after year, in the fight against the red shirt wankers.

Yet here you are week in week out turning your back on them.

I'll get my tin hat out as I'm sure to get battered for saying it, but some of you should hold your head in shame.

If that’s aimed at me you can fuck right off.

I very, very rarely dig out our current or former players. Go and look through the Gundogan thread for evidence of that.

I didn’t even really criticise Walker for his performances. My criticism of him is for his actions as a person, which if you think are acceptable then your moral compass is well and truly shattered.

Lol. If it was aimed at you I would have specifically said you. It was a general point about the sheer number of players getting panned, often personally, by our own fans.

This isn't a positive story. Nor is it false.

Sam Lee is reporting on something that is both true and relevant, just because you might not like it doesn't make it "shit stirring".

The cold hard fact is Kyle Walker left under a cloud of his own making and while was an exceptional footballer in his prime on the pitch, is a weak and pathetic man off it with little respect for other people.
You got the wrong end of the stick.

I said Sam Lee's story was posted the day or morning after we had a very successful transfer window.
It isn't just pot luck these wanker journalists post a negative story to feed the city hating wankers out there.
Imo he didn't need to post what he did.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

I didn't get the wrong end of the stick mate. The way Walker communicated and managed his departure wasn't positive so IMO Sam Lee hasn't done anything inappropriate here at all.

There are plenty of knobhead journalists out there and yes Sam has annoyed me at times in the past for the odd thing (such as the Aguero falling out with Pep stuff) but the stick he gets on here is way, way, way over the top. By and large he does a decent enough job - I don't read the Athletic, but his podcast with David Mooney is good.

Fair enough pal.
