Thank You Kyle Walker

Why has this numpty even got a podcast?

Great player in his day and contributed as much as anyone to our success in the Pep era, but thinking and speaking are not two of his strong points

So many of you are totally misunderstanding and misrepresenting what he said.

Remember what it felt like to win the FA Cup in 2011? Few would argue that it felt even better than winning the league in, say, 2019. That's his point. Not that he loves Spurs more than City. That's silly fan talk.
Just this. I saw an interview with Kevin Day about Palace winning the cup and describing what it meant, how he could normally express himself pretty well but, on the final whistle, he couldn’t find any words for 15 seconds and then just roared for a minute. How he saw people he’d seen at football for years, bluff working class men who wouldn’t cry, ever, in floods of tears.
It’s a shame some people have forgotten that feeling, which is unrivalled.

Piss off with your "Good riddance" and don't speak for me or anyone else. I like him and respect him for his contribution to our greatest ever teams. I couldn't give a shit about his recent comment or his personal life. In context the comment means absolutely nothing..
Correct. it really isn't that deep.

I would! That was my favourite season, and think 2021 would be a far better example, but I take your overall point mate.

He’s no Gore Vidal, that’s for sure.

We've won that many that I don't even know off the top of my head which one that was to be honest without checking - which was kind of my point.

We've had it ourselves. I'd nominate:

Blackburn 2000
Wembley 2011
QPR 2012
and of course Istanbul.

Your whole body tingles with adrenaline, your eyes fill up with tears, your football life flashes before your eyes, you scream and hug people.

That's the price of football success. There's only so many of these moments you can have.

That was when we won the last 14 games and one draw in that sequence would have meant Liverpool (who ended up with 97 points) winning the league.

Yeah, that was nervy and exciting. The biggest "moment" was probably the Liverpool home win rather than a climactic cup final victory.
I think Kompany’s goal against Leicester, the penultimate game, might just scrape over the line as a ‘moment’ mate!

Whilst Kyle walker is as thick as mince, not very eloquent and really shouldnt be doing any work that puts him speaking in a public forum, the people getting angry about what he said are equally thick.

The point of what he's trying to say is perfectly fine. If he would have said he wished he could have been part of the Mancini FA cup win, the first trophy in 30+ years and would swap it for one of his many premier league's, absolutely nobody with have an issue with this yet the point is the same.

But because it mentions another club, people who either lack basic comprehensive skills or are deliberately ignoring the point to enable them to get mad about something have jumped on it.

Get a grip.

Is anyone actually getting angry? Or just commenting on a topic that's been raised?

In one. It’s quite weird that many aren’t understanding this.

No its not. Football supporters only deal in binary absolutes. Anytime you say anything you have to layer it with caveat upon caveat.

I don't particularly like Kyle Walker nor do I think he should open his mouth so often... I even think he should be aware enough with all his media training that saying things like this (he said similar about winning a world cup with england) is ill advised.

But I understand the gist of what he's trying to say. Kind of like, the 100 point season didn't feel anywhere near as good as 2012, despite it being more impressive a league campaign.

Can safely say he won’t be getting a statue.

File alongside players who couldn’t connect with the fans.

We can all act like him, I would trade the next cup win if I didn’t have to listen to his nonsense ever again.

Next RB please…this one is a busted flush.

Never thought much of him during his time at City did you.
