Thank You Kyle Walker

Just him talking like that is unnecessary, even if the question was worded like that.

It probably was only worded like that as he’d already said that he’d swap a City trophy for an England one.

It wasn't a question, he offered it up himself. He isn't the smartest fella and rather than just express the fact he would have liked to be part of it, he clearly felt suggesting he would give one of his medals up would emphasise the point.

As I said, don't have an issue with it. The dippers fail to understand why TAA would want to win things somewhere else, but when you've won as much as Kyle did with us some of the gloss probably comes off.

If he sat and thought about which one he would give away I bet he would struggle. He suggested his second PL before remembering the context and deciding against it!

Each to their own though. I personally think it shows how much respect he has for the fans, staff and teammates he played with (which he also talked about) and that's a positive to his character.

I’m on the same page, it’s just that he used unnecessary language to make his point.

I’m sure he’d love to win a trophy for Sheffield United too. He just doesn’t need it to be one of the ones he won with us!

Some are forgetting how well he has served us.
and some forget what was said on here when he was making his many gaffs, plenty of fine folk have called for him to be ousted from the team at some point or other and I'm talking a long time ago and probably right across his City career tbh

Also, just because people think he might be a bit of a dickhead and should keep his trap shut doesn't mean they don't understand that he has played his part in our success; it isn't a mutually exclusive thought process.

Fans didn't have to call for him to be ousted, Pep did it himself. Champions League final, final day against Villa...

I meant a long time back, one game stands out when he gave away two pens, think it was v Everton, same mistake twice, trying to tackle from the wrong side, he was getting a lot of hate on here, then he became more dominant and the sillier mistakes receded.

I have no problem with him on the pitch, his time has come to an end, tbh it was the end of last season but Pep wanted him to stay on but that was a bad decision in the end.

I just don't like him as a person, he certainly comes across as a massive ****, the shit with his wife/mistress/kids, his England speech now his Spurs glory speeech.

If he had said I'd loved to have won something with my hometown team, then that would at least have been more understandable.

So as per thread title, thanks for the good work you did on the pitch and good luck wherever you end up at.

My opinion has never changed.
I thought he was excellent for us. Loved him playing for us. Sorry to see him go.
He caused his own problems, that eventually affected his game.
If he has a year left and we have no takers, then i wouldn't be against him coming back as a squad player.
My only worry would be if we did that, it would delay us getting another right back etc.

Kyle was a great footballer. Immensely strong and super fast etc etc. His comment about swapping medals was stupid, but remember this is a guy that gets his coxx out in public so I'm not surprised. Good luck to him, but it was a stupid comment.

Walker's speed was doubtless important in our success but he's probably best forgotten about along with Michael Brown. What a pair of numpties. What really irked me more than most about Walker was him checking out when we needed everyone to pull in the same direction during a terrible injury crisis. When the going got tough he melted away. Pep clearly was very disappointed, and he was far from alone. No wonder he loves the much criticised Bernardo who runs through the proverbial brick wall even when he's out of form and knackered. I'd rather remember that effort and that of other great professionals like Akanji and Ake who played on through pain with injuries. I really appreciate that.

Fuck Walker. What is with the politeness? We paid a record fee for a right back to Spurs at the time. We brought him to the club and gave him everything he could have wished for. If it wasn’t for us, if it wasn’t for Pep, his career would have been meaningless, no one would be talking about Kyle Walker, no Europa League trophy is going to change that.

The least technical footballer on the team, we utilised his only talent in running back to help the team in big games. We then went even further to trust this man with the captains armband, and what did he do with aside disgracing us in the media. The same captains armband that was championed by Kompany, Silva, Ilkay before him. All professional role models, and what did he do other than make news for controversy and daft comments?

Lastly, in the clubs toughest season under Pep, when most teams would look to their captain for inspiration, his last act aside dogshit performances was to leave us in the middle of the season. Good riddance, he can enjoy and keep memories of what he won, but I’ll never have any respect for him as a player and as a person.

He seemed quite magnanimous about being dropped for the CL final at the time. But his constant bigging up Spurs on his podcast is pretty disrespectful to us, and Michael Brown isn’t far behind him. Behaving like the bitter old guy at 5 a side who is always last pick

If he has to stay with us I wouldn't have him as a squad player - I'd use him in a coaching role.

He didn't suggest he would take one off us to give to them. He is saying, he would give away one of his PL medals to have been part of the Spurs squad that lifted a trophy. He also said "not my first PL but my second" before then saying actually no because that was the fourmidables!

People need to relax. All he meant was he would have liked to have been part of it. And that's fair enough! He didn't think that hard about it and neither should we.
I put it to a test. Told my wife I'd swap a shag with her, for one with my colleague. Just the one.

Didn't go down well mate.
