When they're really needed they come up trumps. My first Granddaughter was born yesterday. Hale and hearty.
The mother fared less well. Emergency c-section but the bleeding did not stop. Whisked off to intensive care, where they had a battle on their hands. Things looking better now but, in the words of the surgeon, we very nearly lost her.
Thank you NHS for fantastic care.
PS Soft as shit old man in tears!
Thanks. She’s not my first, just first female! When they're really needed they come up trumps.
Congrats on your first grandkid. She will change your life.
Surgeon told me yesterday that mum was sitting up watching “The big bang theory” and may be discharged from intensive care tomorrow. All is going in right direction now.Congratulations mate, hope the Mother is getting better.
That’s great news mate !Surgeon told me yesterday that mum was sitting up watching “The big bang theory” and may be discharged from intensive care tomorrow. All is going in right direction now.
It never rains but it pours. Mum has now had a setback and will be kept in intensive care. Dad is camped in the labour ward looking after the baby.
And their two other children?…….Mrs KS sets out today to live at their place and look after them probably for 5 days as their other grandma has to leave them and go back to work.
Weekend plans cancelled.
My Grandad’s mother died when giving birth and also, the baby girl she was having also died, although this was many years ago. But, as you say and thankfully, it happens rarely these days. All the best mate. We forget child birth is still a dangerous process for mother and baby.
You have to move to the US to truly appreciate the NHS.Congratulations!
The NHS is a blessing for us all.
